About Child & Family Development
Child & Family Development is a growing pediatric therapy and behavioral health organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and families. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper & Financial Reporting Specialist to support our accounting function and provide accurate financial reporting for executive leadership and shareholders.
This role is ideal for an experienced bookkeeping or accounting professional who enjoys maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and partnering with leadership to support sound business decisions.
Position Summary
The Bookkeeper & Financial Reporting Specialist will be responsible for maintaining the company's accounting records in QuickBooks Online, performing reconciliations, supporting the monthly close process, and preparing accurate Profit & Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, and other financial reports.
This position works closely with the President and Executive Director of Business Operations and plays an important role in ensuring financial integrity, transparency, and timely reporting to leadership and shareholders.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Accounting
  • Maintain accounting records and general ledger in QuickBooks Online (QBO)
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including:
    • Profit & Loss Statements
    • Balance Sheets
    • Budget-to-Actual Reports
    • Supporting financial schedules
  • Assist leadership in preparing financial information for shareholders and board reporting
  • Ensure financial reports are accurate, complete, and delivered timely
  • Review account activity and investigate discrepancies

Reconciliations & Month-End Close
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations
  • Reconcile credit card and other balance sheet accounts
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
  • Ensure all accounts are properly reconciled and documented
  • Maintain supporting documentation for financial transactions

Accounting Operations
  • Monitor expense coding and account classifications
  • Assist with accounts payable processing and expense tracking
  • Maintain organized accounting files and records
  • Support annual audit, tax, and financial review processes
  • Identify process improvements to improve efficiency and accuracy

Qualifications
Required
  • 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
  • Strong QuickBooks Online (QBO) expertise
  • Experience with general ledger accounting
  • Strong reconciliation experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail

Preferred
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Experience supporting executive leadership, shareholders, or board reporting
  • Experience in healthcare, medical, therapy, or behavioral health organizations
  • Experience working independently in a small to mid-sized organization
