Job description

Royce Apparel is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to support the daily accounting operations of our growing apparel manufacturing business. This position will work closely with the Controller and assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliations, inventory-related transactions, financial recordkeeping, and other administrative accounting functions.

The ideal candidate will have strong bookkeeping experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Experience with Apparel Magic or similar ERP/accounting systems is highly preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely payment of vendors.
  • Generate customer invoices and assist with accounts receivable collections and account maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Perform account reconciliations, including bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Enter and maintain accounting data within Apparel Magic and other company systems.
  • Support inventory-related accounting transactions and recordkeeping.
  • Review financial transactions for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with purchase order, vendor, and customer account administration.
  • Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and supporting schedules as requested.
  • Assist with payroll-related reporting and record maintenance as needed.
  • Maintain confidential financial and employee information.
  • Support audits and requests for financial documentation.
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned by the Controller.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliations, journal entries, and general accounting principles.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, data analysis, and reporting functions.
  • Experience with accounting, ERP, and business management systems; ability to learn and effectively utilize ApparelMagic and other company software platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to analyze financial information, identify discrepancies, prepare reports, and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial and employee information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with employees, vendors, customers, and management.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and contribute to continuous improvement of accounting and financial processes.

Education/Certification Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of bookkeeping, accounting, accounts payable, or accounts receivable experience required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment and familiarity with ApparelMagic or similar ERP systems preferred.

Physical, Cognitive, and Environmental Demands:

This position requires the ability to perform office-based work, including prolonged periods of sitting, computer use, data entry, and reviewing financial information. The employee must be able to analyze data, maintain attention to detail, manage multiple priorities, and exercise sound judgment while handling confidential information.

Work is primarily performed in an office environment with occasional visits to production and warehouse areas. The employee must comply with all Company safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment when entering operational areas.
