Job description

We’re looking for an Event Booking Intern who is eager to learn how a worldclass sports and entertainment venue operates behind the scenes. This role supports the daytoday operations of FedExForum and provides handson exposure to event execution, facility management, and operational coordination.

You’ll work closely with Arena Operations leadership and crossfunctional teams to support games, concerts, special events, and facility projects. This 6-12 month internship is designed to build practical experience while developing the foundational skills needed for a future career in arena management, venue operations, or live event production.

Arena Operations & Event Execution

  • Assist with the Event Booking Calendar for the arena by placing/clearing holds and sending avails.
  • Assist in ensuring that all events at FedExForum are properly publicized and marketed via available Memphis Grizzlies & FedExForum marketing assets as well as available city assets such as online calendar listings.
  • Assists in venue contract initiation, revisions and execution for event rental agreements for all events at FedExForum. Also responsible for obtaining/tracking certificates of insurance.
  • Assist Director with marketing and promotional support to further develop the FedExForum brand, generate new booking opportunities and new sponsorship opportunities. This includes utilizing different building configurations and smaller spaces in attracting traditional and non-traditional (new/different types of) events for the arena as well as for private/corporate events.
  • Work with Memphis Grizzlies sales, sponsorship, community engagement and basketball operations departments to assist in scheduling, planning and executing their department and activation events hosted at FedExForum.
  • Assist with internal and industry ticket requests for Memphis Grizzlies games or FedExForum concerts/events.
  • Host industry people or VIP’s that are attending Memphis Grizzlies games or FedExForum Events while also working with event managers/coordinators on assigned tasks the day of show for FedExForum events.
  • Provides support and assistance to Director, inclusive of, but not limited to, answering phones, handling correspondence, managing Director’s daily calendar, coordinating travel arrangements, scheduling meetings, creating expense reports, and maintaining and managing calendars and show files.
  • Performs research for potential upcoming events and tracks regional events activities
  • Assists in Researching and procuring Artist welcoming gifts or executes artist experiences while on site.
  • Assists in tabling at events throughout the community
  • Updates spreadsheets that help track venue performance
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Essential:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college or university
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in a fastpaced, highpressure environment
  • Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize work while meeting deadlines
  • Teamoriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
  • Strong customer service focus with attention to detail and quality
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules
  • Basic computer proficiency

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the arena during events
  • Ability to move throughout the venue, including stairs and backofhouse areas
  • Ability to lift or move items up to approximately 25 pounds, with assistance as needed
