Job Description Legal Assistant/Law Clerk - Family Law Downtown Toronto Two Days Work From Home Offered. Our client, a well established and highly regarded law firm located in the core of downtown Toronto is growing. They are in need of a bright, energetic Legal Assistant/Law Clerk to join its Family Law group.

Duties and Responsibilities: Drafting correspondence to clients and lawyers. Putting together briefs and documents for court proceedings. Drafting Orders, preparation of Bill of Costs, Affidavit of Documents, Books of authority Preparing 14B Motions and Divorce Applications; Assembling answers to undertakings, Certificate of Financial Disclosure, Financial Statements Booking and managing client appointments, and court appearances.

Responsible for service and filing of court documents. Managing information in DivorceMate and the firm's document management system Composing, transcribing, formatting, and proofreading all documentation for grammar, spelling and accuracy Filing and organizing files and additional tasks as required. Qualifications: 3+ years' legal firm experience in Family Law.

Law Clerk, Legal Assistant or Paralegal certification from a recognized institution. Familiarity with all filing rules and practice direction of the courts across the GTA. Strong working knowledge of MS Office, DivorceMate, Adobe.

Ability to diarize effectively and efficiently. Familiarity with rules about service and filing. Excellent attention to detail, and time management skills.
