WME Books is one of the world's largest and longest-running book agencies with thousands of titles sold in the U.S., UK, and internationally. At its core, WME Books operates as a boutique literary agency, providing hands-on representation while uniquely positioned to access resources from across the broader WME network.
The WME Books Business Affairs team utilizes the law, contracts and business judgment to strategize with the WME Books agents to make the best deals for our author clients. We also manage contractual relationships between WME's author clients and buyers, and advise colleagues to effectively balance business and legal risks.
What You'll Do:
We seek a talented and highly motivated assistant to provide administrative support to the WME Books Business Affairs team. The ideal candidate has publishing or law firm experience and a genuine interest in books and entertainment. This is a high-volume practice supporting the WME Books agents, who operate worldwide within tight timeframes and whose author clients include bestselling writers and media personalities with a wide range of literary properties. Primary responsibilities include:
  • High-volume contract administration, including issuing and tracking translation publishing licenses
  • Organizing and maintaining files, deal logs and contract precedent logs
  • Fostering excellent relationships with agents, agency clients and internal/external executives
  • Providing scheduling, phone and administrative support for the Books BA team

  • Administrative experience supporting an executive or senior attorney strongly preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills

Per local requirements and in the interest of transparency, the rate shown below reflects the prevalent current hiring range for this position. Hiring pay rates are based on a number of factors, including location and may vary depending on job-related qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience. The company strives to provide locally competitive rewards packages, which include base rate along with, as applicable, short- and long-term incentives, growth and developmental opportunities, and robust benefits, such as health care, retirement, vacation and other paid time off, and additional offerings.
Hiring Rate Minimum:
