Communications Intern

ABOUT VEJA

Since 2005, VEJA has been creating sneakers in a different way, mixing social projects, economic justice, and ecological materials. VEJA uses Brazilian and Peruvian organic cotton for the canvas and laces, Amazonian rubber for the soles, and various innovative materials from recycled plastic bottles or recycled polyester. VEJA sneakers are produced in high-standard factories in Brazil.

JOB DESCRIPTION

VEJA is currently looking for a Communications Intern to join our growing team in North America. Our North America office is based in New York City and offers a hybrid work environment.

The role will report to the North America Communications Manager.

Main responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Support with managing and maintaining NA communications SharePoint: assets, look book imagery, product knowledge, press materials
  • Support with seasonal Press Day as needed
  • Help with monthly press recaps to NA team & load into SharePoint
  • Read and stay up to date on publications in NA
  • Spot and suggest relevant social media trends to NA Communications Team
  • Support with capturing content for important launches, collabs, store openings, etc.
  • Assist with seeding and coordination for influencer gifting
  • Monitor influencer content, ensuring tracking and reporting of posts related to VEJA NA
  • Support coordination and on-site execution for any tradeshows, events, or activations Research relevant conferences and or panels that VEJA can participate
  • Support with any ad hoc projects based on business needs

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Commitment to the VEJA Project and vision; passionate about fair-trade brands with the ability to speak confidently about the VEJA Project, both internally and externally.
  • Studying in marketing, communications or similar study
  • Ability to work independently with strong sense of initiative and positive, proactive approach with positive energy
  • Highly organized and detail oriented, ability to pivot priorities and adapt to a fast-growing organization
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google
  • French speaker is a plus
