Position Summary

The Inside Sales Account Manager plays a vital role in supporting the Outside Sales Representatives by managing quotes, tracking orders, processing warranties, and coordinating between customers, warehouse, and operations.


This position combines sales, logistics coordination, and administrative support, ensuring smooth order flow and excellent customer service from quote to delivery.



Key Responsibilities


Sales & Customer Support


  • Proactively and regularly reach out to and engage customers, helping grow the book of business and achieve consistent sales growth for the assigned Outside Sales Representative.
  • Prepare and process customer quotes, sales orders, and returns accurately and efficiently.
  • Support Outside Sales Representatives with customer inquiries, pricing requests, and product availability.
  • Review and monitor open orders, reserved orders, and pending quotes daily to ensure timely processing and follow-ups.
  • Research products and assist with sourcing non-stock or special-order items.
  • Process warranty claims by completing all required documentation and coordinating with vendors or manufacturers for resolution.
  • Maintain and update customer pricing profiles in coordination with the Outside Sales Representatives and Sales Manager.
  • Set up and maintain correct pricing for both existing and new accounts, ensuring customer discounts are applied accurately and in line with approved pricing guidelines.
  • Promote current company promotions and special offers to customers to help drive additional sales.
  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with customers by providing timely and accurate information.
  • Monitor and respond to emails in the assigned Outside Sales Representative’s inbox, flagging urgent customer requests ensuring timely follow-up.


Account Growth & Performance Management

  • Reach out proactively to customers whose purchasing has slowed or lapsed, working to re-engage them and restore regular buying activity.
  • Identify underperforming or at-risk accounts based on order trends and escalate to the assigned Outside Sales Representative with a recommended course of action.
  • Coordinate with the assigned Outside Sales Representative on any pricing concessions or promotions offered to win back lapsed or at-risk customers; all such offers must be approved by the Outside Sales Representative.
  • Monitor CRM/ERP data for assigned accounts to track sales performance — quote conversion rate, order frequency, average order value, and sales growth — and report trends regularly to the Outside Sales Representative and Sales Manager.
  • Maintain full CRM hygiene: log customer interactions, update account status, and ensure no account goes untouched for an extended period.
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities based on customer purchase history and product needs.


Order & Inventory Coordination

  • Coordinate with warehouse and operations staff to ensure orders are pulled, packed, and delivered on schedule.
  • Track and confirm delivery status for priority or special orders, keeping both the customer and Outside Sales Representative informed.
  • Verify inventory levels, identify shortages, and communicate restocking needs to management.
  • Assist in transferring inventory between branches to fulfill customer orders.
  • Track fulfillment accuracy and on-time delivery rate for assigned accounts, escalating recurring issues to management.


Administrative & Reporting

  • Enter and maintain accurate order data in the ERP or CRM system.
  • Keep detailed records of open quotes, warranty claims, and customer communications.
  • Provide weekly summary reports to the assigned Outside Sales Representative on active quotes, open orders, and pending issues.


Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA/Hazmat regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace and assist in keeping the branch and office area orderly.
  • Report any safety concerns, incidents, or damaged products promptly to management.

Salary Description

Starting at $45,760 - $60,000 / Year + Performance Based Bonus

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
  • High Level of Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Google Drive, Gmail, AI tools like Gemini, Claude, Chat GPT and CRM/ERP systems (required).
  • Experience with CRM/ERP reporting and comfort interpreting sales metrics and account performance data.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage an assigned book of business independently, with accountability for measurable sales and service outcomes.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
  • Must be a proactive problem-solver and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Team player willing to assist across departments as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and availability to work occasional Saturdays as needed.
