Job description

At Prima Produce, we are more than just a produce distributor—we are a produce marketing and logistics concierge. Founded on deep family roots in South Florida produce and built on a mission to revolutionize food service distribution, we connect top farms directly with luxury hotels, fine dining establishments, caterers, commissaries, and food service professionals.

We pride ourselves on white-glove hospitality, same-day delivery, superior farm-fresh quality, and concierge-level customer support.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, high-performing Wholesale Produce Sales Representative who brings an established book of business in the South Florida market (specifically Broward and Palm Beach Counties).

In this role, you will leverage your existing relationships with executive chefs, food and beverage directors, purchasing managers, and restaurant owners to drive revenue growth. You won’t just be selling produce—you will be providing a premium sourcing experience backed by Prima Produce’s reliable logistics, top-tier fresh fruits, specialty vegetables, and customer-first technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Business Growth: Transition and expand your existing book of commercial produce accounts (restaurants, country clubs, luxury hotels, catering companies, commissaries).
  • Relationship Management: Serve as a trusted advisor to chefs and F&B managers, offering concierge-level support, seasonal product updates, and customized ordering solutions.
  • New Account Acquisition: Proactively prospect, cold-call, and network across South Florida to secure high-volume wholesale accounts.
  • Market & Product Knowledge: Guide clients through our extensive product offerings (fresh fruits, specialty vegetables, microgreens, hydroponic produce, and local farm specialties).
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with our sourcing and delivery teams to ensure seamless same-day order fulfillment, accuracy, and client satisfaction.
  • Account Administration: Manage pricing negotiations, credit terms, and daily customer inquiries to maintain strong profit margins and long-term account retention.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Existing Book of Business (REQUIRED): Must have an active, transferable client base of food service buyers in Broward, Palm Beach, or surrounding South Florida areas.
  • Industry Experience: Sales experience in commercial produce wholesaling or broadline food service distribution.
  • Local Market Expertise: Deep understanding of the South Florida culinary scene, fine dining, hotel/resort operations, and catering markets.
  • Product Knowledge: Strong expertise in fruit and vegetable varieties, seasonality, grading, storage, and food service specifications.
  • Self-Driven Negotiator: Track record of meeting or exceeding aggressive sales targets with strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License: Reliable personal transportation for visiting key client accounts throughout South Florida.

What We Offer

  • Lucrative Compensation: Competitive salary structure with an uncapped, highly rewarding commission tailored for reps bringing an active book.
  • Superior Operational Support: Same-day delivery capabilities, free shipping thresholds, and premium quality sourcing that make winning and retaining accounts easy.
  • Entrepreneurial Culture: Direct access to company leadership, fast decision-making, and room to build your territory with minimal bureaucracy.
  • Client-First Advantage: Work with a team that values hospitality and concierge-level logistics over corporate cutthroat distribution.
