Position Summary
Execute precision machine installation and assembly according to layout plans, blueprints and other drawings using sophisticated measuring instruments. Install and align heavy industrial machinery such as conveyor systems, pumping systems, packaging systems, compressors, electric generators and turbines. This role involves hanging doors, installing baffles, metal floors and roofs, and bolt‑up mechanical assembly on skids (no welding).
Reports To: Fabrication Manager

Position Responsibilities
  • Identify hand tools, fasteners and equipment used in the trade and distinguish their applications
  • Apply basic layout principles, blueprint reading, and master intermediate trade math
  • Identify appropriate gaskets and O-rings according to their application
  • Apply oxyfuel cutting techniques
  • Use safe rigging practices
  • Set baseplates and soleplates
  • Properly use precision measuring tools
  • Install packing and seals (including mechanical seals)
  • Remove and install bearings and couplings
  • Fabricate shims
  • Pre-align and install equipment
  • Install belt and chain drives, fans and blowers
  • Identify conveyor parts and explain their functions
  • Distinguish types of alignment (conventional, laser and reverse) and identify the steps that must be taken for each
  • Identify types of pumps common and distinguish their application, troubleshooting and repairing procedures
  • Identify types of compressors and their maintenance procedures
  • Troubleshoot and repair gearboxes
  • Identify turbine components and explain their functions
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience operating a forklift (fork truck).
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience as a fabricator.
  • Prior experience working in a fabrication shop environment.
  • Experience performing mechanical assembly using bolts, fasteners, and hardware (no welding required).
  • Demonstrated experience installing or hanging doors, panels, or access covers.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow mechanical drawings and fabrication blueprints.
  • Proficiency in the use of hand tools and power tools for mechanical assembly tasks.
  • Strong understanding of proper bolt-up procedures and torque requirements.
  • Work safely and effectively in a team environment, as well as with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability and knowledge of welding, machining, milling, cutting, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability of motivation and willing to maintain and develop skills.
  • Must read, write, and speak fluent English.
  • US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa.
  • Successful candidate will need to satisfactorily complete pre-employment drug screen and background check
