Main purpose of the job:
Stationary Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of stationary mechanical systems, including boilers, HVAC systems, generators, turbines, compressors, pumps, and building automation systems. They ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of facility equipment to support continuous building operations.
ROLE AND ACTIVITY
Operation and Maintenance of Equipment:
  • Operates, maintains, and repairs large building systems such as boilers, HVAC units, air compressors, refrigeration systems, pumps, and electrical systems.
  • Ensures proper functioning of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment to provide a comfortable indoor environment.
  • Performs preventive maintenance (PM) schedules and repairs on all building systems.

Troubleshooting:
  • Diagnoses and resolves mechanical or electrical malfunctions promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Identifies system inefficiencies and implements corrective actions to improve system performance.

Supervising and Training:
  • Supervises lower-level engineers or maintenance workers, providing guidance, training, and assistance as needed.
  • Reviews and approves work orders, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and according to safety standards.

The pay scale for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The pay range for prospective employees in this role is $50.00 per hour, with opportunities for overtime, shift differential, cold premium pay and annual bonuses (variable depending on company performance).
