What is a BOH associate?

A BOH (Back of House) Associate is a staff member who works behind the scenes in areas such as restaurants, retail stores, or hospitality venues. Their responsibilities typically include tasks like inventory management, food preparation, stocking supplies, cleaning, and supporting the front-of-house staff to ensure smooth operations. BOH Associates play a crucial role in maintaining organization, efficiency, and cleanliness in non-customer-facing areas. They often collaborate with other team members to ensure that the business runs smoothly and that customers have a positive experience.

How does a BOH associate typically collaborate with other restaurant team members during busy service periods?

As a BOH (Back of House) Associate, you'll work closely with both kitchen staff and front-of-house team members to ensure smooth food preparation and timely order delivery. You'll also play a key role in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, which helps the entire team operate efficiently. Collaboration and adaptability are crucial for meeting customer expectations and maintaining a positive work environment.

Experience with kitchen equipment, food safety procedures, and inventory management systems is commonly required. Teamwork, reliability, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure are standout soft skills in this role. These competencies ensure smooth kitchen operations, maintain food safety standards, and support the timely delivery of quality meals.
