Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for Quality Engineers (Level 3) to support the Emergent Operations in Fabrication team based out of Auburn, WA on 1st Shift.

Join our Emergent Operations in Fabrication team in Auburn, WA, as a Quality Engineer. This is an opportunity to be part of a passionate team dedicated to excellence in aerospace engineering. We are seeking highly motivated and technically oriented engineers who have experience working in a heavily regulated industry and possess an unwavering commitment to quality and compliance.

As a Quality Engineer, you will dive deep into the intricacies of our engineering documentation, assessing and enhancing how we translate complex requirements into clear, actionable instructions for our production teammates. Your role will be both challenging and rewarding, as you will engage directly in the building process through on-the-floor observations, ensuring that quality is not just a goal but a culture. You will also be a part of our safety and quality transformation through the execution of our Comprehensive Safety and Quality Plan. We value active listening and empathy and are looking for individuals who can communicate effectively with team members at all levels, fostering a collaborative environment that drives continuous improvement.

This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.62 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Represents Supplier Quality in Integrated Product Teams IPT as part of Boeing Supply Chain's Work Movement process

  • Perform technical risk assessments of proposed SOWs and supplier options across product, process, and program life-cycle dimensions

  • Assess supplier capabilities (quality systems, process controls, special processes, metrology, inspection, and corrective/preventive actions) to determine fit for proposed SOW

  • Define and validate acceptance criteria, sourcing quality requirements, and transition quality gates for work movement

  • Coordinate requirements and expectations with Supply Chain, Supply Chain Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Management, and Supplier Quality Representatives

  • Develop supplier assessment plans (onsite audits, virtual assessments, special process qualifications) and execute or coordinate assessments

  • Provide go/no-go recommendations for supplier selection and SOW approval, with clear rational and documented risk posture

  • Support contract language for quality expectations, source inspection requirements, and special process qualifications where needed

  • Track and report risk metrics, readiness status, and quality performance during and after transition; propose continuous improvement actions

  • Mentor and coordinate with Supplier Quality Representatives to ensure consistent assessment standards and best practices

  • Collaborate with supply chain daily and related stakeholders to identify and address risks associated with work movement within the supply base

  • Works under general direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Everett, WA.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years' experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, or equivalent in aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing

  • Strong knowledge of relevant quality systems and standards (AS9100, ISO9001) and regulatory/compliance expectations

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Industrial, or equivalent) OR STEM field from an ABET accredited institution

  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills and ability to influence at all levels

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in the aerospace industry

  • Experience in work movement, source selection, transfer planning, or supplier onboarding is strongly preferred

  • Experience, and at least considered an intermediate user, with office tools such Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Experience with utilizing analytic skills: collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources

  • Experience with Engineering Process Improvement Methods: knowledge of producibility and process improvement methodologies (e.g., statistical process control (SPC), Six-Sigma)

  • Experience with conducting First Article Inspection and/or reviewing AS9102 forms

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams

  • Ability to present technical findings to various levels of leadership

  • Familiar with core supply chain processes and terminology
