Procurement Agent (Associate or Experienced)
Company:
Boeing Distribution, Inc.
Boeing Global Services (BGS) Distribution Business is looking for an Associate or Experienced Procurement Agent (Level 2 or Level 3) to join our team in Long Beach, CA or Chandler, AZ.
The ideal candidate integrates program, customer, product and in-service strategies into source selection, negotiation and contracting strategies. Negotiates pricing and contract terms and conditions. Conducts risk, issues and opportunities management. Manages supply and demand, schedules, supplier quality, delivery and financial performance. Initiates and executes supplier improvement activities and integrates results into contracting strategies.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Effectively manage priorities for a high volume of supplier purchase orders/contracts
  • Oversee source selection for parts and services
  • Gathers data for supplier performance evaluation and improvement opportunities to ensure delivery, quality, and financial stability
  • Manage supplier performance, interpreting and enforcing contract terms and conditions
  • Initiate supplier improvement activities, while integrating and aligning with program business unit goals and strategies
  • Communicate and engage with stakeholders to ensure that program and customer strategies are integrated into supplier source selection, negotiation, and contracting strategies
  • Communicate across functions, programs, and suppliers to effectively manage risks, issues and opportunities
  • Lead special projects to execute continuous improvement initiatives
  • Coach, mentor, and train junior team members
  • Possess complete understanding, ability, and knowledge to act independently when working routine problems or situations; Possess complete knowledge of company and local policies, procedures and regulations

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience)
  • 3+ total years of related experience
  • 2+ years of experience in Supplier Management, Supply Chain, Procurement and/or Strategic Sourcing
  • 1+ years of experience with basic ERP system functionality such as Systems Applications and Processing (SAP) and/or Procurement to Pay (PTP)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products like Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Experience drafting, negotiating and executing complex contracts and subcontracts
  • Experience with interacting directly with suppliers regarding contract requirements and/or proposals

Export Control Requirements: This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Preferred Qualifications/Desired Skills (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree or higher preferred - Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field of study
  • 4+ total years of related experience
  • 4+ years of experience in Supplier Management/Procurement as a Purchasing Agent or Buyer
  • APICS Certified in Production & Inventory Management (CPIM),
  • Experience working in a distribution business environment
  • Experience in commodity / product knowledge
  • Experience with strategic sourcing and managing supplier performance
