Job description

Fabrication Specialist (Machinist)

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Fabrication Specialist (CNC Machinist) to join our Composite and Fabrication Team in West Jordan, Utah on 4th Shift.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, grinders) following engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
  • Perform quality inspections using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Adjust machine settings and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintain machine cleanliness and perform routine maintenance.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production teams to resolve fabrication challenges.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Performs machine set-up, machining and fabrication tasks
  • Prepares test articles, fixtures and data collection devices to perform various tests
  • Works on articles of moderate complexity using established drawings and requirements

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications
  • 1+ years of experience setting-up and operating CNC Mills and Lathes
  • Ability to work any shift based on the needs of the operation
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing, bending, kneeling and lifting

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with CNC programming and operation (Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, or equivalent)
