Systems Engineer - Mid Level
Why This is an Exciting Role:
As a Systems Engineer - Mid Level at Boeing Intelligence & Analytics (BI&A), you will be responsible for:
  • Innovating RF signal processing applications
  • Facilitating the integration of new and legacy software across a variety of hardware form factors
  • Analyzing user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications
  • Deriving an understanding of stakeholder needs and essential system functions from system requirements
  • Developing a system design solution that satisfies system requirements
  • Participating in producing definitions of systems or components under development that provide common reference points for hardware and software developers
  • Deriving lower-level requirements from higher-level allocated requirements that describe in detail the functions that a system component must fulfill
  • Ensuring lower-level requirements are complete, correct, unique, unambiguous, realizable, and verifiable
  • Participating in an Integrated Product Team to design new capabilities based upon evaluation of all necessary development and operational considerations
  • Generating alternative system concepts, physical architectures, and design solutions, and suggest hardware upgrade to improve system performance
  • Allocating real-time process budgets and error budgets to systems and subsystem components
  • Participating in interface definition, design, and changes to the configuration between affected groups and individuals throughout the life cycle
  • Producing written plans that define the methods, processes, and evaluation criteria by which the systems, subsystems, and work products are verified against their requirements
  • Participating in the development of system engineering documentation, such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirement Specification, and Interface Control Documents
  • Developing derived requirements for Information Assurance Services (Confidentiality, Integrity, Non-repudiation, and Availability), Basic Information Assurance Mechanisms (e.g., Identification, Authentication, Access Control, Accountability), and Security Mechanism Technology (passwords, cryptography, discretionary access control, mandatory access control, hashing, key management, etc.)
  • Reviewing and providing input to program and contract Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), work packages, and the Integrated Master Plan (IMP)

Experience and Qualifications:
To be eligible for this demanding position, the ideal candidate should demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:
Required Education and Years of Experience:
  • Seven (7) years of experience as a systems engineer in medium-scale (20-100 people) or larger programs or contracts
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Five (5) additional years of experience of systems engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree

Required Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance
  • Experience with Jira/Confluence or similar project management tools

Desired Qualifications:
  • INCOSE ASEP or similar systems engineering certification
  • Proficiency with Cameo/MagicDraw, Rhapsody, or similar SysML tools

Summary Pay Range:
Please note that the information shown below is a general guideline only. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
$103,000 - $141,000
