Job Summary:

We are seeking highly motivated applicants to join our world-class team and help create the future of affordable, reliable space systems. We are looking for candidates who have demonstrated practical problem-solving and technical experience in their previous roles. Your work will be vital in transitioning a design to a real-life, mission-capable constellation of fully assembled satellites.

The Assembly, Test, and Launch Operations (ATLO) Team plans and executes all space vehicle-level integration and test activities at Millennium. ATLO creates the detailed flow of activities throughout the buildup of the space vehicle, writes and executes all test and assembly procedures used in these activities, conducts system-level through environmental testing, and performs integration to launch vehicle.

The ATLO Functional Manager will oversee 20-25 direct reports and will further their growth and development by performing regular reviews, providing coaching and mentoring, setting and tracking short- and long-term goals, and staffing programs with the proper talent. In addition to People Management, each K level Manager will take on one of three ATLO Initiatives to strengthen the ATLO team. The Initiatives are listed below the Responsibilities section.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned people leader with experience in spacecraft integration, hardware-software integration, test systems, or production automation.

This position's internal job is Systems Engineering Manager. Our team is currently hiring for a level K.

Position Responsibilities:

People Management

  • Conduct quarterly/annual performance reviews; set measurable objectives tied to company Big Rocks
  • Design individualized career growth plans, mentorship programs, and succession pathways
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, integrity, and continuous improvement; recognize and celebrate achievements
  • Manage staffing levels, workload balancing, and resource allocation across ATLO projects

Initiatives

Hiring and Recruiting

  • Lead the end to end recruiting cycle: resume triage, phone screens, panel interviews, and offer negotiations
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition (Talent Acquisition team) to ensure timely posting, candidate pipeline health, and compliance with hiring policies.
  • Develop interview scorecards and competency rubrics aligned with ATLO technical and cultural requirements
  • Track recruiting metrics (time to fill, quality of hire) and report to senior leadership

Ramp-to-Rate Manufacturing

  • Lead process improvement initiatives to increase ATLO throughout toward the target of 5 vehicles/month by2026 (and 10/month by2029)
  • Map current ATLO workflows, identify bottlenecks, and propose innovative practices (e.g., valuestream mapping, lot testing)
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality to align tooling, fixtures, and test equipment capacity
  • Establish key performance indicators (firstpass yield, cycletime, rework rate) and drive databased decision making

Training & Onboarding

  • Build a comprehensive onboarding curriculum for new ATLO engineers, covering safety, ATLO processes, satellite subsystems, and test procedures

  • Implement hands-on labs, mentorship pairings, and competency assessments to accelerate ramp up to full contributor status (target 4weeks)

  • Maintain a living knowledgebase (e.g., SOPs, lessons learned) and schedule periodic refresher training

  • Measure training effectiveness via skillgap analyses and post-training performance metrics

Boeing First-Line Leader Assessment:To be considered for this position you will be required to complete an assessment as part of the selection process. Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree in any Engineering or related field

  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership"

  • 5+ years' experience in (technical or engineering field) manufacturing, mechanical, electrical, test engineering, materials and process engineering, or similar field in Aerospace, Automotive, or Commercial industries.

  • Experience with spacecraft systems integration and testing

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.A final U.S. clearance Post Start is required

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 7+ years' experience in space systems

  • Experience writing work instructions and procedures for critical aerospace parts in a production environment

  • Experience with common hardware-integration tools such as NI LabVIEW, DAQ hardware, electrical power supplies, signal analyzers, and multimeters

  • Proficiency with statistics, data analysis, cost/benefit analysis, business intelligence, and data visualization (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau)

  • Proficiency in tracking tools such as MRP/ERP, Jira, MS Project, manufacturing execution systems, Teamcenter/PLM, and configuration management

  • Experience with CAD software and engineering drawings

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to make presentations to engineering, team members, customers, and management

  • Experience working with a union represented workforce

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance

Summary pay range: Level K: $151,300 - 222,500
