Job description

Reports To: Body Shop Manager

The Body Shop Technician is responsible for performing high-quality collision repairs, bodywork, and refinishing on commercial trucks and heavy-duty vehicles. This role involves diagnosing and repairing damage, using specialized tools and equipment, and ensuring all repairs meet OEM and industry standards. The technician must work efficiently to minimize downtime while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and safety.


Key Responsibilities:Collision & Structural Repairs:
  • Perform frame, cab, and body repairs on commercial trucks, including aluminum and steel bodywork. Mini

  • Use welding, cutting, and metal shaping techniques to restore vehicle integrity.

  • Conduct structural repairs, panel replacements, fiberglass repair, and alignments.

  • Operate frame straightening machines and measuring systems to restore factory specifications.

  • Apply seam sealers, corrosion protection, and undercoating as needed.


Refinishing & Painting:
  • Sand, prime, and paint repaired surfaces to match OEM color and finish.

  • Mix and apply paint, clear coats, and other finishes using HVLP spray guns.

  • Ensure proper curing and drying processes to maintain durability.

Mechanical & Electrical Repair:
  • Repair and replace glass, mirrors, lighting, and electrical components.

  • Work on airbags, sensors, and ADAS calibration when applicable.

  • Assist in mechanical repairs related to collision damage, such as cooling system and suspension components.

Quality Control & Compliance:
  • Inspect completed repairs for fit, finish, and functionality before delivery.

  • Ensure all work complies with OEM standards, DOT regulations, and insurance guidelines.

  • Maintain shop tools and equipment, reporting any necessary repairs or replacements.

  • Follow OSHA safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
