The Role
The Family Nurse Practitioner serves as a key clinical leader within the clinic, providing evidence-based care services while fostering an exceptional patient experience. This role partners closely with Medical Assistants, Radiologic Technologists, leadership, and physicians to deliver efficient, high-quality care that aligns with MEC's standards for service, safety, and operational excellence.
Our providers are expected to balance clinical expertise with strong communication, teamwork, and a hospitality-minded approach to patient care.
Responsibilities
Clinical Excellence
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages presenting with acute illnesses and injuries
  • Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans utilizing evidence-based medicine
  • Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic testing including laboratory and radiology results
  • Perform procedures including:
    • Laceration repair
    • Incision and drainage
    • Foreign body removal
    • Splinting
    • Nail procedures
    • Injections
    • DOT physicals
    • Occupational medicine services
  • Prescribe medications and therapies within scope of practice
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the electronic medical record

Patient Experience
  • Deliver compassionate, efficient care while creating a welcoming and reassuring environment
  • Communicate clearly regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, follow-up care, and patient education
  • Support MEC's commitment to service excellence by maintaining professionalism and empathy during every patient interaction
  • Address patient concerns proactively and contribute to positive patient outcomes and satisfaction

Team Leadership & Collaboration
  • Serve as a clinical resource for Medical Assistants, Radiologic Technologists, and clinic team members
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Support onboarding and development of new clinical staff
  • Collaborate effectively with collaborating physicians and operational leaders

Operational Excellence
  • Support clinic goals related to patient flow, efficiency, and quality metrics
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and clinical quality programs
  • Assist with maintaining regulatory compliance, infection control, and patient safety standards
  • Adapt to varying patient volumes, staffing needs, and clinic locations as business needs require

What We're Looking For
Required:
  • Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Active Family Nurse Practitioner license in Illinois and/or Indiana.
  • Ability to treat patients across the lifespan.
  • Strong clinical decision-making and procedural skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred:
  • Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, or Occupational Medicine experience.
  • Experience performing common urgent care procedures.
  • DOT Certification (or willingness to obtain).

Scheduling Requirements:
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Flexibility to support multiple clinic locations

Compensation
The expected salary range for this position is $125,000-130,000, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
