Job description

Description

Balanced Body is seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Machinist to join our team. This isn't a "check-the-box" inspection job - we need a process-oriented technical expert who can bridge the gap between engineering and production, and who naturally elevates the people and processes around them.

You'll be the final line of defense for quality, utilizing your expertise in manual machining and advanced metrology to ensure every part meets our rigorous standards. This is a dynamic role for a self-directed, technically sharp professional who thrives in a fluid environment and is eager to grow within our QA/QC and Machining departments - with real opportunity to shape how quality gets done here.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Precision Machining: Operate and maintain a variety of equipment, including manual mills, CNC lathes, surface grinders, laser cutters, and shears to produce high-quality prototype parts for engineering.

- Technical Inspection: Conduct comprehensive quality inspections and audits of incoming materials and finished parts.

- Blueprint & Tolerance Analysis: Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and blueprints to verify dimensional accuracy and part integrity.

- Metrology Mastery: Utilize advanced measuring instruments - calipers, micrometers, and gages - to determine critical dimensional data.

- Data Integrity: Maintain accurate parts and supply inventories within our MRP system, reporting and documenting all non-conforming materials.

- Technical Leadership & Safety: Serve as a technical resource for the team, ensuring lock-out tag-out protocols are strictly followed while prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

WHO YOU ARE

- Experienced Inspector: Minimum 3 years of professional experience dedicated to Quality Inspection in a manufacturing setting.

- Skilled Machinist: Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience working in a machine shop environment.

- Technically Proficient: Advanced math skills and the ability to perform complex tolerance analysis.

- Detail-Obsessed: Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to consistency in following established processes.

- Natural Leader: You bring a "can-do" attitude and a collaborative presence that others gravitate toward. You shift priorities quickly without losing sight of quality or team cohesion.

- Safety-First Mindset: Solid knowledge of proper lock-out tag-out procedures.

- Certified: Forklift certification is a strong plus.

WORK SCHEDULE

This position is onsite and full-time, Monday through Friday.
