Job description

Goodhue Boat Company is growing and we are looking for driven, enthusiastic, and talented individuals to join our team and grow with us! We are looking for a Full-Time Rentals Manager to help us in delivering award-winning customer service and creating a unique and memorable experience for our customers. This position will assist the General Manager in ensuring the success of the Marina at our Meredith location. 


Position Overview

This position will be responsible for overseeing operations and success of the Rentals department. The manager will be the point of contact for inter-departmental communications, and report directly to the General Manager. 


Primary Responsibilities
· Lead, train and support a team of employees of all ages, including high school and college staff.

· Manage workforce scheduling, monitor staffing requirements, and distribute daily assignments.

· Manage administrative tasks related to rental bookings, payments, boat registrations, and documentation for newly acquired rental and boat club boats.

· Ensure accuracy with retail transactions and cash drawers.

· Manage rental accessories—water skis, tubes, tow ropes, and similar items—keeping inventory organized and equipment in good condition.

· Maintain clear communication within the department and with other departments.

· Collaborate  with the Service Department regarding rental boat damage.

· Collaborate with the Sales Manager on end-of-season transitions of rental boats.

· Assist the Sales team with boat shows, registrations, and data entry when needed.

· Perform additional duties as required to support operations.


Required Qualifications

· Experience managing employees, including youth staff.

· Strong customer service skills.

· Solid understanding of scheduling and staffing in a busy, multi-shift environment.

· Knowledge of Federal, State, and Youth labor laws.

· Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

· Clear communication skills.

· Works well as part of a team.

· Strong computer skills.

· Experience with SPEEDYDOCK is a plus.


Physical Requirements

· Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.

· Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.

· Must be able to work in various weather conditions.


Education, Licensing & Skills

· Minimum of High School degree or equivalent.

· Required: Valid driver’s license.

· Preferred: Boater’s license.


Work Schedule

· Monday-Friday + Weekends. (5 days per week)

· Monday-Friday in off-peak season

· Flexible Schedule
