What is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)?

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is a professional who has specialized training and certification in applied behavior analysis (ABA). They use evidence-based strategies to improve social, communication, and learning skills, and often supervise other behavior technicians. To become a BCBA, individuals must meet educational and experiential requirements and pass a national certification exam.

What are some common challenges faced by Board Certified Behavior Analysts when implementing behavior intervention plans in school settings?

Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and parents to ensure consistent application of strategies can require strong communication and advocacy skills.
