Job description

Mini of Rochester and The Bob Johnson Automotive Group is looking for a motived technician with an interest in growing with a fun and unique brand. The pay ranges from $52,000-$80,000 a year, in addition you are offered up to a $5,000 sign-on bonus with a $5,000 annual retention bonus. Having the willingness and ability to operate as part of a fun hardworking team is a must. Mini Cooper experience is not required (BMW experience is a plus) and all training expenses are paid for. Many trainings are at exciting BMW M facility.

Automobile Technician Mechanic Job Responsibilities:

  • Keeping equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles; completing preventive maintenance such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters.
  • Maintaining the functional condition of the vehicle by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components; repairing body damage.
  • Verifying the serviceability of a vehicle by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
  • Comply with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
  • Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting.
  • Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
  • Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
  • Contain costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.
