Work Style: Onsite
Location: Gainesville, FL
FTE: Full-Time (1.0 FTE)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
UF Health Shands is a Level I Trauma Center, an NCI-Designated Cancer Center, and a FACT-accredited Bone Marrow Transplant Unit committed to exceptional patient care and team member support. The Coordinator, BMT Data Management position supports BMT data management outcomes and ensures compliance with federal reporting requirements, accreditation standards, and regulatory agencies. This role is eligible for comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and tuition reimbursement.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
  • Abstracts, collects, and documents critical Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) data elements from electronic medical records and external healthcare facilities.
  • Completes and submits required reporting forms and transplant data to the Center for International Blood & Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR).
  • Ensures the accuracy, quality, and integrity of reported BMT data in compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and reporting standards.
  • Supports audits, research queries, and accreditation reviews conducted by internal and external entities, including regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Contributes to the development and improvement of systems and processes that support continuous quality and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Effectively manages multiple priorities, deadlines, and projects within a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Cultivates collaborative working relationships with physicians, transplant nurse coordinators, stem cell laboratory staff, BMT program personnel, and clinical trials teams.

Qualifications
Education
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
Required Experience & Skills
• Minimum of two (2) years of data management experience.
• Experience providing information systems support.
• Knowledge of information systems, data storage, data analysis, and performance improvement methodologies.
Preferred Experience & Skills
• Oncology or Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT)/Cellular Therapy data management experience.
• Leadership experience.
• Computer programming experience.
• Experience with CIBMTR reporting, transplant registries, or FACT accreditation.
• Experience with healthcare data abstraction, regulatory reporting, and quality improvement initiatives.
Motor Vehicle Operator Designation
• Employees in this position will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose.
