Job description

Responsibilities

  • The BMC Administrator will oversee the administration, maintenance, and upkeep of the TrueSight and discovery environment; handle the deployment and configuration of the TrueSight suite of products and BMC discovery for the entire PSAC infrastructure.
  • Support and coordinate Public Safety Critical Server Patching for MGMT Servers, Vesta and NICE (Using BladeLogic Server Automation)
  • Coordinate and patch critical call take positions with BCM (Blade Logic Desktop Patching) without impacting call takers.
  • Support Public Safety 911 enterprise monitoring environment which comprises multiple tools such as, BladeLogic Server Automation(BSA), ADDM, BSA and ADDM. Diagnose and resolve incidents; implement appropriate corrective actions for known errors;
  • Administration, maintenance and upkeep of the BMC BladeLogic and BMC ADDM environment; handle the deployment and configuration of the BMC BladeLogic suite of products and BMC ADDM for the entire PSAC infrastructure (NYPD, FDNY, EMS and DOITT including but not limited to call takers, supervisor, platoon leaders, radio dispatch operator and support personal etc.
  • The BladeLogic Administrator will be required to assist in configuration baselining, governance, and compliance across the board. The admin will be working hand to hand with security to address vulnerabilities and concerns on systems and respond to zero-day vulnerabilities.
  • Standardize workstations and provide OS Deployment / Barebone provisioning process for new builds.
  • Standardize and automate the Discovery /configuration of over 2000 nodes. Need to help NYPD, FDNY, and NICE to locate their assets and eliminate manual spreadsheets to track assets.

Skills Needed

  • At least 12 years of experience in the engineering field.
  • Server Patching and Lifecycle Management Manage enterprise server patching and remediation using BMC TrueSight Server Automation (TSSA / BladeLogic) Plan, schedule, deploy, and report on patching activities across Windows and Linux environments
  • TrueSight Server Automation Administration Act as System Administrator and SME for BMC TrueSight Server Automation (BladeLogic) Maintain TSSA infrastructure, job configuration, compliance content, and operational workflows
  • Perform upgrades, troubleshooting, and platform maintenance
  • Scripting and Automation Expertise, Subject Matter Expertise required in: Bash / Shell scripting, PowerShell, Python and the ability to develop automation scripts, integrations, and operational tooling to support TrueSight platforms
  • BMC Client Management (BCM) Administration Administrative-level knowledge and operational support of BMC Client Management Software deployment, inventory management, remote control, and endpoint configuration
  • BMC Discovery Operations Operational skill set in BMC Discovery (ADDM) Discovery configuration, scanning, troubleshooting, and data quality management Integration of discovered assets with CMDB
  • CMDB and Asset Management Strong understanding and hands-on experience with: BMC Remedy CMDB Asset Management processes and CI data management, reconciliation, normalization, and relationship mapping
  • Candidates are required to have at least 10 years of experience in items listed above and with BMC automation toolset.
