Position: Registered Nurse MNA

Department: Emergency Department

Schedule: 24 Hours, 7p-7a, rotating weekends

About The Emergency Department

The Emergency Department at Boston Medical Center – South plays a critical role as the frontline of urgent care, providing immediate, life-saving services to over 65,000 patients annually. As the only designated Level III Trauma Center in the region, the department is essential in delivering specialized care in areas such as trauma, cardiac, stroke, pediatrics, and behavioral health. With advanced technology including EMS integration through Twiage, and a dedicated team of skilled nurses the Emergency Department ensures rapid, high-quality treatment for a wide range of acute conditions, helping to stabilize patients and coordinate their continued care across the hospital.

Position Summary

As an RN in the Emergency Department, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care. Using our patient-centered care model you will be uplifted by a supportive nursing organization, and will be able to deliver the excellent care to your patients that they deserve.

Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver nursing care in the Department, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
  • Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families
  • Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
  • Update and manage patient records
  • Enter and interpret computerized data/information
  • Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC's nursing organization
  • Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects
Job Requirements
  • Experience: Prior experience in an emergency department preferred
  • Education: Nursing degree required: diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred); Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years required
  • Certification/Licensure: Active Massachusetts RN license and BLS required. ACLS, PALS preferred

Compensation Range: $38.10- $77.63

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, and licensure/certifications directly related to position requirements. In addition, BMCHS offers generous total compensation that includes, but is not limited to, benefits (medical, dental, vision, pharmacy), contract increases, Flexible Spending Accounts, 403(b) savings matches, earned time cash out, paid time off, career advancement opportunities, and resources to support employee and family wellbeing.
