JOB OPENING
The Sales Development Representative is a key technical sales support position, dedicated to assisting the Epiq Solutions Sales Team specifically within our Space Business. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about the Space sector and business development, have a natural curiosity and willingness to support customers, and who thrive on finding answers to complex questions and solving problems with persistence.
This role has multiple career paths to the field sales, technical support, or marketing roles.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the Sales Team:
  • Collaborate closely with Sales Team, leveraging technical knowledge to assist with sales team, customer queries and project updates.

Inbound:
  • Address and manage inbound customer inquiries via phone or website.
  • Analyze and triage inquiries, directing them to the appropriate Sales Team Member or managing directly if within scope, while filtering out non-qualified leads (e.g., hobbyists).
  • Maintain active, accurate, and timely communication with the Sales Team, ensuring the project pipeline is current.
  • Track and manage open pricing requests and updates, generating estimates in Salesforce as needed.

Technical Engagement:
  • Follow up with Epiq Product and Applications teams to assure customers that product-related questions are resolved.
  • Follow up with sales team questions such as finding out current product lead-times and status of software and product under development.
  • Take full ownership of small accounts.

Outbound Engagement:
  • Follow up with new customers after meetings, trade shows and events, ensuring that business cards collected are converted into meaningful leads.
  • Quotes: Track quote expiration timelines and follow-up with customers approximately one week prior to expiration to offer updated quotes if needed.
  • Deliveries: Ensure customer satisfaction by confirming receipt of products and addressing any post-delivery concerns.

Salesforce Management:
  • Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date Salesforce database to track customer communication, opportunity status, and technical requirements.

Research:
  • Conduct in-depth research into target organizations, accounts, and key contacts upon request for potential background information and lead generation.

Other tasks as requested
  • Coordinate logistics for customer visits, ensuring smooth arrangements for location, audio/visual needs, and hospitality.

Requirements
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, related field, or relevant experience
  • Technical Acumen and genuine curiosity for technology and business
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: Ability to independently investigate inquiries and issues, ensuring thorough and timely resolution (e.g., coordinating lead times, following up on open tasks).
  • Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of DoD: Familiarity with the Department of Defense and its operational needs.
  • Strong Computer Skills: Adaptable with technology, able to learn quickly and master new systems.
  • Detail-Oriented and Organized: Strong ability to juggle multiple tasks, manage time effectively, and ensure follow-through on all responsibilities.

DESIRED SKILLS
  • Demonstrable experience or a personal interest in the Space sector & related technology.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering: A technical degree that reinforces the ability to understand and explain complex technology.
  • Experience with EMS and Wireless Technologies: Familiarity with modern wireless communications signals such as GSM, UMTS, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. is a plus.
  • Prior Military or Government Service: Experience in federal or military environments is a plus.
