Position Summary: The Campus Operations and Special Projects Manager is responsible for enhancing the overall appearance, cleanliness, and presentation of the university campus. This role oversees Housekeeping, Groundskeeping and leads campus beautification initiatives, special projects, and improvement efforts that contribute to a welcoming and well-maintained environment for students, employees, and visitors.




Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of Housekeeping, Groundskeeping and Special Project Staff including scheduling, training, and performance management.
  • Ensure campus buildings and facilities are maintained at high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
  • Develop and implement campus beautification initiatives to improve the appearance of grounds, common areas, and public spaces.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee special campus projects related to renovations, seasonal decorations, and facility improvements.
  • Conduct regular inspections of campus facilities to identify areas needing attention or improvement.
  • Coordinate with Facilities, Grounds, and other departments to support campus events and special initiatives.
  • Manage housekeeping supplies, equipment, and inventory to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and institutional policies.
  • Assist with planning and preparation for major campus events, tours, and special functions to ensure facilities are properly prepared.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and professional development for Housekeeping, Groundskeeping and Special Projects Staff.



Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience required, preferably in housekeeping, facilities, or custodial services.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Excellent communication and team leadership abilities.
  • Knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment, and safety standards.



Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk campus facilities and grounds regularly.
  • Ability to lift and move supplies or equipment as needed.
  • Ability to work in various indoor and outdoor conditions.


Qualification Standards

The qualification standards of the Student Accounts Customer Service Coordinator include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • A Christian commitment and lifestyle that acknowledges a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a personal commitment to the Christian purpose and mission of Bluefield University.
  • Professional appearance and presentation in the working environment (including casual or tech-related tasks).




Performance Standards

  • Subject to at least annual evaluations, ensuring accountability and alignment with job functions.
