Job description

Radiologic Technologist

The Radiologic Technologist performs Radiographic, CT, and DEXA exams following protocols, policies, and guidelines of the department/hospital with direction from the Radiology Team Leader, Radiologists and Physicians at the Ely-Bloomenson Community Hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the EMR to schedule, educate, and prep patients for their exams to ensure the patient, family, and/or caregiver are prepared for the exam ordered by the physician/provider.
  • Verifies Patient identity by two means and verifies the exam being performed.
  • Explains exam/procedure to patient, family and caregiver as needed to reduce anxiety and obtain patient cooperation. Performs the time out for safety when applicable.
  • Performs all exams as required using the appropriate prepping, shielding, and exposure factors based on protocols and policies as well as ALARA when applicable.
  • Demonstrates ability to complete correct documentation for orders, IV's, and the exam, in the EMR.
  • At the modality, verifies image quality, appropriate image orientation, and labeling prior to sending exam to PACS. Verifies image link with EMR is established prior to exam ending in the EMR.
Wage
  • $32 - $41 per hour. Pay rate will be based on years of experience and additional certifications in imaging modules such as CT, MRI, & Mammo.
Schedule
  • Our schedules are thoughtfully planned at least one month in advance, giving you the predictability you need to maintain a healthy work–life balance. The Diagnostic Imaging department operates between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., offering flexible 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts. Technologists typically take 1–2 evening call shifts per week and participate in a rotating weekend call approximately every fourth weekend.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Completion of a two-year Medical Association approved course in Radiologic Technology or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possession of, or eligible for, Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist as a Registered Radiologic Technologist.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous CT experience or willingness to obtain through EBCH cross training program.
  • MRI and Mammo experience preferred.
  • EPIC knowledge preferred.
