Job description

Job Summary:
Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi is a company that promotes health and wellness at all levels. They are seeking a Network Engineer II who will be responsible for managing network infrastructure and ensuring network availability and security.
Responsibilities:
• planning and leading the installation, configuration, documentation and maintenance of network infrastructure devices and software including network routers, switches, load balancers, and firewalls, ensuring high availability and security
• conducting activities related to Business Recovery including providing network redundancy and participating in the semi-annual Business Recovery tests
• working with outside vendors and other departmental personnel to resolve production issues
• working with Server Engineering and Information Security to respond to and resolve network availability, performance, and security issues
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience required.
• 4 years’ experience working in a network administration role required.
• CCNA required.
• Experience with Cisco routers and switches is required.
• Must have strong skills in the use of Microsoft Office productivity software and graphical documentation tools.
• Must have a comprehensive understanding of network protocols and associated applications and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills required.
• Experience with Network Diagnostic troubleshooting and monitoring tools required.
Preferred:
• CCNP certification preferred.
• Experience with Cisco Nexus and Fiber Channel equipment preferred.
• Experience with FortiGate firewalls is preferred.
• Experience with Wireshark, Cisco ISE, Cisco DCNM, and Solarwinds Orion is preferred.
