Job Summary

The Blow Mold Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring blow molding machines that form plastic parts. This role ensures parts meet quality standards by performing inspections, adjusting plastic flow, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining accurate production and scrap records.


Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor automatic blow molding machines
  • Perform start‑up checklist activities at the beginning of each shift
  • Conduct first, middle, and last part inspections and log all findings
  • Adjust plastic flow and machine settings as needed during production
  • Troubleshoot minor machine issues and notify supervisors of malfunctions
  • Remove molded parts from conveyors or molds
  • Tear, rip, and trim excess flash from molded parts
  • Inspect parts for defects such as bubbles, splits, or thin areas
  • Move flash and rejected parts to re‑grind containers for recycling
  • Calculate and record production and scrap totals
  • Follow all work instructions and standard operating procedures
  • Participate in TPS/Kaizen activities and continuous improvement efforts
  • Perform daily 5S activities to maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Follow all safety and quality standards

Quality Authority & Responsibility

In support of the company’s quality system objectives, the Blow Mold Operator has the authority to:

  • Initiate actions to prevent product or process non‑conformities
  • Identify, document, and report quality issues
  • Recommend and assist in implementing corrective actions
  • Verify the effectiveness of implemented solutions
  • Stop or control further processing of nonconforming products

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
