The Senior Accountant, Tax & Financial Reporting, supports the company's tax and SEC reporting teams, with a primary focus on U.S., state, and local corporate income tax compliance and income tax accounting under ASC 740. The role involves preparing federal, state, and local tax filings; calculating quarterly and annual tax provisions under ASC 740; conducting tax research; and addressing or responding to tax notices as needed. The Senior Accountant, Tax & Financial Reporting, will work closely with finance, accounting, and external advisors, and will contribute to external reporting, process improvements, and special projects

What You Will Do as a Senior Accountant, Tax & Financial Reporting

Corporate Income Tax & Compliance

  • Prepare federal and state corporate income tax returns, extensions, and estimated tax payments.

  • Assist with gathering, analyzing, and reconciling data required for tax compliance filings.

  • Coordinate with external tax advisors as needed to support compliance and audit processes.

Income Tax Accounting (ASC 740)

  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual income tax provisions under ASC 740 which includes calculating current and deferred tax expense, deferred tax assets and liabilities, and valuation allowances, among other aspects.

  • Support tax-related and other financial statement disclosures in the company's SEC filings.

  • Assist with return-to-provision reconciliations.

  • Ensure compliance with SOX controls.

State and Local Taxes (SALT)

  • Support compliance and planning for state and local income, franchise, and gross receipts taxes.

  • Assist with state apportionment calculations and nexus analysis.

  • Provide assistance as needed with sales and use tax matters.

  • Respond to state and local tax notices and assist with audits as needed.

Tax Research & Planning

  • Conduct tax research on federal, state, and local tax issues and document conclusions as needed.

  • Monitor changes in tax law and assess potential impacts to the company.

  • Support tax planning initiatives and special projects as assigned.

Financial Reporting

  • Support financial reporting automation initiatives.

  • Assist with SEC reporting disclosure support and accuracy.

What You Will Bring as a Senior Accountant, Tax & Reporting

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required, Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation is a plus.

  • CPA license required.

  • 3+ years of relevant corporate tax experience in public accounting and/or a corporate tax department.

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. corporate income tax compliance and ASC 740 income tax accounting.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas and data analysis.

  • Experience with corporate tax software such as CorpTax preferred.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience with ERP systems, NetSuite preferred.

  • Familiarity with tax research platforms such as Bloomberg Tax (BNA), CCH, and/or Thomson Reuters Checkpoint.

  • Exposure to multi-state and sales/use tax compliance.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-tax stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and compliance.

  • Proactive mindset with a desire to improve processes and controls within the tax function.

Pay Range*: $88,500 - $118,000 Annually
