Our Team:
An exciting and new opportunity has opened up to join the Bloomberg Product Oversight team in New York. Our team dives deep into the very roots of our clients' workflow to gain a comprehensive understanding of their business. We align our clients' workflow and data consumption with the appropriate contractual framework and Bloomberg offering, protecting both our clients and our organization. Using a consultative and analytical approach, we examine client data workflows, content licensing frameworks, and strategic initiatives working closely across all internal lines of business. With close proximity to our clients, we are at the forefront of understanding business and product opportunities, providing these insights to management to better improve our offerings.
What's the role?
In today's complex environment, data analytics and business intelligence are critical to understanding performance and opportunities to improve service and optimize efficiency. We are seeking a Data Scientist to expand the foundation we've developed, utilizing the wealth of data embedded across our organization to drive innovation and groundbreaking change. As an integral member of the team, you will go beyond collection and synthesis of data to help us determine potential opportunities for strategic improvement. You will also accomplish this through project management tools, operational dashboards, KPIs/metrics, and written/verbal presentation skills.
Who you are:
You're a Data Scientist/Engineer with a strong programming background. You have proven project and time management skills. You multi-task effectively, handle ambiguity, and function well in a fast-paced, sometimes unpredictable environment. You approach challenges with creativity and enthusiasm. You thrive in a team environment and possess the motivation and curiosity to learn the details of Bloomberg businesses and how our team operates.
On our team, you will apply data analysis expertise to complex operational problems. You'll provide design recommendations, identify data sources, and gather/cleanse/model and test your ideas. We will depend on you to provide strategic thinking and tactical expertise across a broad range of disciplines across Bloomberg Products.
We'll trust you to:
* Design end-to-end machine learning models to answer targeted business questions and drive change
* Perform large-scale data analysis and manipulations to extract insights and influence business decisions
* Organize and analyze data to identify historical patterns to better position our workflows
* Integrate yourself into the team in close partnership with other analysts on department wide initiatives
* Research, develop, and implement new methods of extracting relevant data from a variety of sources
* Collaborate and consult with business colleagues to better understand their domain
* Design, prototype, and implement technical solutions using a combination of proprietary, third party and open-source technology to pursue complex business needs
You'll need to have:
* 5+ years of data science/machine learning experience
* Strong foundational programming skills with deep expertise in Python and SQL
* Ability to write clean, efficient, and optimized code for data processing, analysis and model deployment
* Hands-on experience in building end-to-end machine learning models with post-deployment best practices
* Ability to assimilate, decipher, and present data analysis from a client impact perspective
* Ability to run multiple projects at a time and shift priorities quickly
* Strong analytical skills, troubleshooting, and ability to trace root causes
* Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
We'd love to see:
* Experience with client services within the tech/financial industry
* Strong knowledge of supervised and unsupervised anomaly detection algorithms
* Experience with big data tools and infrastructure (Hadoop, Spark...)

Salary Range = 190,000 - 220,000 USD Annual + Benefits + Bonus
The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
