Our platform offers best-in-class strategic guidance, product planning, trust and fund services, legal support, operations support, marketing and research, and sales and distribution services.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Trading Systems Business Analyst with a primary focus on Bloomberg to serve as the primary platform analyst and advocate for the Trading team. This role is responsible for the overall effectiveness, adoption, and evolution of Bloomberg and other core trading platforms used by the desk.
The analyst partners closely with traders to understand how platforms are used in practice and ensures systems are configured, governed, and continuously improved to support trading strategies, execution workflows, and market access. While user onboarding and entitlements are part of the role, the primary mandate is platform ownership, including workflow design, vendor engagement, process standardization, and continuous optimization.
This position is embedded within the Trading function and works cross-functionally with Technology and Compliance to ensure trading platforms meet business needs, control requirements, and scale as the platform grows. This is not a software engineering role; however, the analyst is expected to be fluent in trading systems and workflows and to represent Trading's needs and priorities in platform-related discussions.
What you'll do
Trading Platform Ownership & Standards
  • Act as the primary business analyst and subject matter expert for Bloomberg and key trading platforms, supporting Trading's needs and priorities.
  • Help define and maintain standards and best practices for how trading platforms are used across the desk.
  • Partner with Trading leadership to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities to enhance platform usage.
  • Own the full lifecycle of platform usage for Trading, including onboarding, enhancements, access changes, and decommissioning.
  • Serve as a key escalation point, coordinating resolution of complex platform issues.

Bloomberg Platform Ownership & Trading Support
  • Serve as the primary Bloomberg Subject Matter Expert (SME) and strategic owner for the Trading team.
  • Support traders with Bloomberg functionality across asset classes.
  • Handle day-to-day Bloomberg requests, questions, and troubleshooting from Trading and related teams
  • Act as the main point of contact with Bloomberg representatives and support teams.

Platform Optimization & Continuous Improvement
  • Continuously evaluate Bloomberg and other trading platforms to ensure alignment with evolving trading strategies and market structure.
  • Partner with vendors to assess new features, enhancements, and tools relevant to the Trading desk.
  • Advocate for Trading by providing input and recommendations related to platform changes, upgrades, or vendor initiatives.
  • Monitor and assess platform effectiveness through trader feedback, usage patterns, and operational outcomes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Trading, Compliance, and Technology to support trading system access and platform effectiveness.
  • Escalate complex issues appropriately while remaining accountable for resolution.
  • Assist with periodic reviews of trading system usage, licenses, and entitlements to optimize cost and access.
  • Work on ad-hoc & Special Projects.
  • Respond to one-off Bloomberg data, access, or functionality requests from Trading.
  • Support special projects related to new trading workflows as needed.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 5+ years hands-on Bloomberg Terminal experience supporting a trading desk or front-office environment (ETF, asset manager, hedge fund, or SMA platform)
  • Strong understanding of trading workflows and market data usage (e.g. pricing, RFQ, FX, execution tools)
  • Proven experience onboarding users, managing entitlements, and enabling real-time pricing on Bloomberg
  • Working knowledge of Bloomberg data access methods (Terminal functions, exports, APIs) to support ad-hoc trading needs
  • Strong project management skills, comfortable supporting and driving Bloomberg-related initiatives with multiple stakeholders.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, strong documentation habits, and effective cross-team communication skills.
  • Chicago and New York locations preferred.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience supporting front-office trading desks in an asset management or ETF environment.
  • Advanced proficiency with Bloomberg trading and market data workflows (e.g., EMSX, RFQ, FX, pricing).
  • Familiarity with custodial, prime broker, or execution platforms used by trading teams.
  • Experience partnering with Compliance or Technology on platform usage, controls, or access reviews.

The pay range for this role is:
85,000 - 125,000 USD per year (Hybrid (Chicago, Illinois, US))
85,000 - 135,000 USD per year (Hybrid (New York, New York, US))
