What is a blog content writer?

Blog Content Writers are professionals who create written content for blogs, typically for websites or businesses. Their main responsibilities include researching topics, writing engaging and informative articles, optimizing content for search engines (SEO), and sometimes promoting posts through social media. They play a vital role in helping organizations attract and inform readers, build brand authority, and improve online visibility. Blog Content Writers may work as freelancers, in-house employees, or as part of an agency team.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a blog content writer?

To thrive as a Blog Content Writer, you need strong writing, research, and SEO skills, often supported by a degree in English, communications, or a related field. Familiarity with content management systems (like WordPress), SEO tools (such as SEMrush or Ahrefs), and basic HTML is typically required. Creativity, adaptability, and the ability to meet deadlines are crucial soft skills that set top writers apart. These competencies ensure engaging, well-optimized content that attracts and retains readers, supporting a blog's growth and credibility.

How do blog content writers typically collaborate with other teams or stakeholders within a company?

Blog Content Writers often work closely with marketing, SEO specialists, and subject matter experts to ensure their content aligns with broader business goals and accurately represents the company's voice. Collaboration may involve participating in editorial meetings, coordinating on content calendars, and incorporating feedback from various departments. This cross-functional teamwork helps ensure that blog posts are timely, relevant, and optimized for both readers and search engines. Effective communication and adaptability are key assets in this collaborative environment.

Job description

Description
CHEQ is the Intelligence Standard for the Human-AI Era, trusted by over 15,000 customers worldwide to confidently engage, transact, and thrive in this new era of digital transformation.
Powered by award-winning cybersecurity technology, CHEQ offers the only integrated Traffic, Threat, and Identity Intelligence Engine, enabling companies to distinguish between legitimate users and bad actors - human, AI agent, or bot - and deliver granular, context-specific insights in real-time to marketing, commerce, and security platforms.
CHEQ is a global company with offices in Tel-Aviv, New York, London and Tokyo.
We are a fast-paced, technology-driven team where everyone's contribution impacts product success.
We are looking for a Senior Content Marketing Manager to own the strategy and execution of content that drives brand awareness, educates our buyers, and supports pipeline growth at CHEQ.
The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer who thinks strategically - someone who understands what makes B2B buyers engage with content and knows how to create it across a range of formats.
You're equally comfortable developing a long-form thought leadership piece as you are writing a punchy video script, and you use data to continuously sharpen your approach.
You don't just follow industry conversations, you help shape them.
Responsibilities:
Content Strategy & Editorial
  • Own CHEQ's content strategy in partnership with the Head of Marketing, developing a program that builds brand authority, supports demand generation, and maps to the buyer journey
  • Lead the development of a thought leadership program that positions CHEQ as the definitive voice in the evolving landscape of digital trust, traffic intelligence, and agentic AI, creating content that industry peers, customers, and prospects turn to for guidance and perspective
  • Write and produce high-quality content across formats including ebooks, whitepapers, blog posts, video scripts, and case studies
  • Partner closely with the Product Marketing Manager to develop high-value content that equips go-to-market teams with the materials they need to drive and accelerate deals
  • Collaborate with the Customer Marketing Manager on customer case studies, and partner with product marketing and subject matter experts to ensure content reflects deep category expertise
  • Leverage AI tools throughout the content creation process from ideation and research to drafting and optimization to increase efficiency and output quality without sacrificing substance or voice

Website, SEO & Performance
  • Own website content strategy and manage ongoing content updates, ensuring pages are accurate, on-brand, and optimized for search
  • Work closely with CHEQ's external SEO agency to execute on keyword strategy, on-page optimization, and blog content priorities that drive organic traffic growth
  • Use tools like SEMrush and GA4 to track website engagement and content performance, translating insights into actionable strategy improvements
  • Stay current on how AI is reshaping search and content discoverability, and bring forward-thinking recommendations to the team

Requirements
What We're Looking For?
  • 5+ years of content marketing experience, ideally in a B2B tech environment
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills across formats like long-form, short-form, and web
  • Strong SEO expertise including keyword research and on-page optimization, with experience working alongside or managing external SEO agencies
  • Experience managing a content or editorial calendar with a track record of growing organic traffic
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools for content creation and a genuine curiosity about how AI is changing the content and search landscape
  • Experience working cross-functionally with product marketing, demand gen, field marketing, and sales
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms (WordPress and Webflow preferred) and marketing tools including HubSpot, SEMrush, and GA4 are a plus
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment that requires in-office teamwork at least 2 days a week

The pay range for this position is $130,000 - $155,000 per year. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, length of service, and geographic location.
