About the unit
1G is a 22 bed Progressive Non-ICU unit at Blodgett hospital that specializes in the care of a variety of medically complex patients, including those with cardiac arrythmias and who require bipap. People are drawn to 1G for its teamwork, dedication to excellence, and the opportunity to learn and challenge themselves in a fast-paced environment.
About the Hospital:
Blodgett is an ever-growing, 330-bed acute care teaching hospital located in East Grand Rapids. Originally founded in 1846, Blodgett has continued to grow and evolve to meet the needs of the community. As a Level III trauma campus with a large annual surgical volume, we are equipped to care for a wide range of acute care patients. We offer numerous specialty units that provide care unique to Blodgett in Grand Rapids, including Total Joint Replacement, a Primary Stroke Center, Acute Care of the Elderly, and Bariatric Surgery. With units ranging from 20 to 24 beds, we foster close-knit teams while still providing highly specialized acute care. Our inpatient nursing units also partner with our discharge lounge and virtual nursing teams housed at Blodgett, as well as 24/7 hospital supervisor and security support. Recently, we welcomed external partner sites for Meijer Pharmacy and Starbucks. This fall, we will also offer on-site parking to all team members. Together, these resources and partnerships create a supportive environment where team members can thrive while delivering exceptional patient care.
Scope of work
Performs receptionist/secretarial duties and maintains confidential records, supplies and equipment per hospital and unit specific standards. Greets and directs guests on the unit in a manner that reflects a welcoming environment. Performs computer entry, schedules tests/procedures, processes orders, and performs other related activities per unit/hospital standard within a reasonable time frame.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of relevant experience Preferred
