Job description

Interested in working on cutting-edge blockchain technology and creating equitable access to the global financial system? Since 2014, the mission-driven team at the Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) has helped fuel the tremendous growth of the Stellar blockchain network, an open-source platform that operates at high-scale today. Developers and companies around the world build on it, and the SDF team is expanding to support the rapidly growing and changing Stellar ecosystem.
As a Software Engineer on the Wallets team, you will get to design, build, and deploy applications across our product suite and technical stack. This includes our flagship product, Freighter, as well as the open-source libraries and services that it depends on. In this role you'll build features and experiences end-to-end, from designing scalable data models to implementing exceptional user interfaces. You will develop a deep understanding of the Stellar network and how to integrate with it, and work with industry-leading partners to make Freighter the best wallet in the space.
In this role, you will:
  • Work on cutting-edge technology at the intersection of blockchain and finance.
  • Drive all aspects of the development process for wallet projects, from vision to implementation.
  • Design new features and interfaces that users will love.
  • Build and maintain scalable backend services that empower the ecosystem.
  • Engage with the open-source community on diverse projects, ideas, and integrations.
  • Collaborate on code reviews, design discussions, and best practices for engineering at SDF.

You have:
  • 2+ years of experience developing software as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and information retrieval.
  • Experience in writing server applications in languages such as Go, Python, or Java.
  • Proficiency in writing client applications in languages such as TypeScript, Swift, or Dart.
  • A solid grasp of software design patterns and the ability to build reusable, extensible, and modular components.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to advocate for ideas technical discussions, especially during design and code reviews.
  • A strong product mindset that drives a passion for understanding and designing for current and anticipated user needs.

Bonus Points if:

We offer competitive pay with a base salary range for this position of $140,000 - $190,000 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, we offer lumen-denominated grants along with the following perks and benefits:
