Eigen Labs is more than just a leading name in the blockchain space. We’re the driving force behind Eigen Layer, a game-changing solution that revolutionizes crypto-economic security. Imagine a world where blockchain projects break free from the shackles of the scaling trilemma and capital limitations.

We’re building a platform to deliver security to novel distributed applications. In today's blockchain ecosystem, each service is typically secured by its own tokenized trust-network. With Eigen Layer, services can build upon the established security of the Ethereum trust network, unlocking untold scalability while maintaining security and decentralization.

The Role

This executive role will lead the security team, manage risks, implement cutting-edge security technologies, and foster a security-first culture across the organization. The Director/VP of Security will align security initiatives with the company’s business goals while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. If you're passionate about leading security efforts, implementing advanced technologies, and fostering a security-first culture while aligning with business goals, we want to hear from you!

What You Will Do
  • Security Strategy and Leadership:

    • Engage with AVS developers at various stages of the development lifecycle to understand their pain points and address them with engineering solutions.

    • Help in creating target output metrics for your team and manage the inputs to achieve them.

  • Risk Management:

    • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and implement mitigation strategies.

    • Oversee cybersecurity policies, procedures, and incident response plans to minimize operational disruptions.

  • Incident Response and Crisis Management:

    • Lead the organization’s response to security incidents, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to address and remediate breaches.

    • Ensure business continuity through disaster recovery and crisis management planning.

  • Compliance and Regulatory Requirements:

    • Ensure the organization complies with all relevant security regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, ISO 27001).

    • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and risk management teams to align security policies with regulatory requirements.

  • Security Awareness and Culture:

    • Foster a security-first culture across the organization by developing and delivering regular security awareness programs for all employees.

    • Ensure that security best practices are embedded into the organization's daily operations.

  • Technology and Innovation:

    • Identify and implement the latest security technologies, tools, and solutions to protect the organization from evolving threats.

    • Oversee the security of IT infrastructure, networks, and systems to ensure comprehensive protection across all technology platforms.

  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Work closely with the executive leadership team to ensure security initiatives support overall business goals.

    • Collaborate with IT, product development, and operations teams to ensure the seamless integration of security measures.

What You Will Bring
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in information security, cybersecurity, computer science, or related field (Master’s preferred). Equivalent experience is also considered in lieu of degree.

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in information security, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, such as CISO, Security Director, or equivalent.

  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or Certified Information Security Manager.

  • Skills:

    • Proven ability to develop and implement large-scale security strategies.

    • Expertise in risk management, incident response, and security governance.

    • Strong leadership and communication skills to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

    • Experience with blockchain/web3 applications and protocols.

    • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and regulatory standards (e.g., NIST, ISO, GDPR).

The target base salary for this role will range between $250,000 to $350,000.
