Subcontractor Installer - Bumble Bee Blinds (Multiple Territories)
Introduction
Bumble Bee Blinds is expanding in our local markets, and we are seeking experienced subcontractor installers to support residential and light commercial installation demand. This independent contractor opportunity is ideal for professionals who deliver clean, accurate, and customer-focused installation work.
As a Subcontractor Installer with Bumble Bee Blinds, you will complete in-home measurements, install custom window treatments, and represent the brand professionally at each job site. You will work closely with the General Manager and Sales team to execute work orders safely, on time, and to specification.
Responsibilities
Installation & Job Execution:
- Perform in-home measurements and installations of custom window treatments, including roller/solar shades, wood blinds, and soft shades.
- Install and program motorized products and home automation integrations when required.
- Complete each installation according to work order scope, quality standards, and customer expectations.
- Review daily jobs in advance and verify product/material readiness before departure.
- Diagnose field issues and complete repairs, when capable, or communicate required parts and scope to management.
Customer Experience & Professionalism:
- Arrive on time, maintain a professional appearance, and deliver a respectful in-home customer experience.
- Demonstrate finished products to customers before leaving the job site.
- Leave each site clean and organized, with all tools and equipment secured for transport.
Operational Coordination:
- Follow direction from the General Manager or Sales Manager to meet scheduling and completion expectations.
- Confirm ladders, tools, materials, and all project products are loaded and job-ready each day.
- Update CRM records with completion notes, job photos, and required documentation, including payment collection as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Independent contractor status and ability to perform work under subcontractor agreement terms.
- Minimum 2 years of window treatment installation experience, or demonstrated equivalent proficiency through certifications and prior project volume.
- Working knowledge of installation best practices, jobsite safety, and customer-facing service standards.
- Ability to meet physical labor demands of installation work, including lifting and ladder use.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to service assigned territories.
Preferred:
- Experience with shutters, exterior shades, and drapery installation.
- Advanced motorization troubleshooting and home automation setup experience.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills in the field.
Compensation & Benefits
- Paid per completed installation based on published subcontractor price list.

Insurance Requirements
Subcontractors must maintain active and verifiable insurance coverage prior to payment eligibility.
Commercial General Liability Insurance:
- $1,000,000 each occurrence limit (bodily injury and property damage).
- $2,000,000 general aggregate per project.
- $2,000,000 products and completed operations aggregate.
- $1,000,000 personal and advertising injury limit.
Workers' Compensation and Employers' Liability Insurance:
- $1,000,000 each accident.
- $1,000,000 each employee for injury or disease.
- $500,000 aggregate for injury by disease.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand/walk for extended periods, lift and move installation materials, climb ladders safely, communicate clearly with customers and team members, use mobile and office technology, and perform standard physical tasks with or without accommodation.
Compensation: $50,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
