Job description

LOD Staffing has openings for Event Center Staff / Janitorial or Guest Services

Location: Downtown San Antonio

Work Schedule: 5pm to midnight or Midnight to 9am

Event Center Staff are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of event venues and grounds before, during and after entertainment, sporting, and other events. In addition, they will assist Event Center staff with setting up of banquet halls and rooms with chairs, tables, linens, staging and lighting. Guest Services staff is responsible for representing the event venue by providing exceptional customer service to guests attending sporting events, concerts, conventions, trade shows, and special events.

Essential Functions for Janitorial:

  • All toilets and bathrooms upheld to highest cleaning standards
  • Dispose of all waste in line with recycling policy
  • Event Center to be cleaned by picking up bulk trash, liquids, protein spills, sweeping and mopping before, during and after events
  • Check external areas and parking lots for trash and remove as needed.
  • Wipes and cleans tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas
  • Maintain professionalism with spectators, audience members and other event attendees.
  • Assist with setting up and/or tearing down tables/chairs/bleachers/floors for conversion

Essential Functions for Guest Services:

  • Greet guests in a professional, friendly, and courteous manner.
  • Provide directions and information regarding seating locations, entrances, exits, restrooms, concessions, parking areas, and event amenities.
  • Assist guests in locating their assigned seats and navigating the facility.
  • Verify tickets, credentials, wristbands, or event passes as required.
  • Monitor assigned areas to ensure guest safety, comfort, and compliance with venue policies.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest questions, concerns, and requests for assistance.
  • Report guest incidents, emergencies, suspicious activity, safety hazards, or policy violations to supervisors and security personnel.
  • Assist guests with disabilities and provide accommodations in accordance with ADA guidelines.

Minimum Qualification

  • Must be able to pass a Background Check
  • Must be able to pass a Drug Screening
  • Must have valid ID.
  • Flexible around working days and hours, including weekends and occasional nights.

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • This job involves heavy lifting and long periods of standing and walking long distances
  • Frequent climbing and descending of steps to access stadium / event seating
  • Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals / solutions
  • Repetitive motion involved with sweeping and mopping
  • Stooping, grasping, going up bleachers/stands over long periods of time
  • Ability to maintain productivity requirements in a fast-paced facility
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

  • Work areas are typical of a stadium/arena/event facility, which includes working with and around bleachers, floors and steps may be damp and slick due to spills, and other hazards.
  • Workers are exposed to noise from cleaning equipment. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout to be heard above ambient noise level.
  • Must be comfortable working with large crowds and large numbers of attendees
