B-TEK Scales, LLC, is a manufacturer of high-capacity truck, rail, floor, and bench scales for the weighing industry, located in Canton, Ohio.
Job Summary
The Burn Table Operator is responsible for operating CNC plasma/oxy-fuel cutting equipment to produce high-quality parts according to specifications. This role includes programming burns, material handling, and organizing both raw materials and finished parts to support efficient workflow within the department.
The ideal candidate takes ownership of their area, maintains a clean and organized workspace, and supports overall department operations to ensure safety, quality, and productivity goals are met. A person who actively looks for ways to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and support team success
Duties and Responsibilities
Machine Operating & Programming:
• Operate CNC burn table equipment to cut materials according to production requirements.
• Program and adjust cutting parameters to ensure optimal cut quality and efficiency.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and job travelers.
• Inspect parts to verify accuracy and conformance to specifications.
• Perform routine machine checks and basic troubleshooting as needed
• Perform routine maintenance according to manufacturer specifications and internal processes
Material Handling:
• Load and unload raw materials onto the burn table safely and efficiently.
• Stage finished parts in designated areas for downstream processes.
• Organize raw material inventory to maintain accessibility and accuracy.
• Ensure proper identification and labeling of materials and parts.
Department Support:
• Assist with unloading incoming material trucks and storing materials appropriately.
• Support other areas within the department as needed, including blasting operations.
• Communicate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and minimize delays.
• Help maintain overall department cleanliness and organization (5S standards)
Safety:
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Wear required PPE at all times.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions or equipment issues.
• Participate in maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Quality:
• Ensure parts meet quality standards and job specifications.
• Identify defects or inconsistencies and communicate issues promptly.
• Support continuous improvement efforts related to cutting quality and efficiency.
Qualifications
• Experience with CNC plasma, oxy-fuel cutting equipment or Lasers required.
• 1+ years of experience in fabrication, machining, or CNC operation preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Basic computer skills for programming and job tracking.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to lift, bend, stand, and work 8-12 hours per shift.
