Job description

Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of drilling experience in a mining or similar industrial environment, with knowledge of limestone formations, rock characteristics, and quarry operations. The role requires basic computer proficiency, solid math skills, the ability to work effectively in a high-performance team environment. Blasting license, and CDL with hazmat endorsement, is preferred but not required.

What you will do:

Employee will work a 4 day 10 hour schedule as part of the Quarry operations. Under the supervision of the Quarry manager the Driller performs drilling and blasting operations in the open pit quarry at the plant and off-plant locations while supporting explosive handling duties. This role is responsible for meeting daily drilling footage to support production demands. Must complete drill logs and maintain accurate drilling, and blasting records. The Driller also assists with quarry face safety inspection, drill pad prep. Driller blaster reports conditions impacting blast quality, while ensuring compliance with MSHA regulations, safety policies, and environmental procedures, driller will fill in operating other quarry equipment as needed.ย 

Physical Requirements:

The position requires the ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing, sitting, climbing in and out of equipment, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and frequently climbing truck ladders. The role involves lifting, carrying, pushing, and loading materials up to 50 pounds, with occasional lateral pushing.
