Black Label information

What is a Black Label?

Black Label jobs typically refer to positions within companies, brands, or divisions using the 'Black Label' name, often associated with premium or exclusive products and services. For example, in the fashion, automotive, or beverage industries, 'Black Label' denotes a high-end line, and jobs may include roles in marketing, sales, product development, and customer service focused on luxury markets. The specific duties and requirements can vary significantly depending on the industry and company, but generally, these roles emphasize quality, exclusivity, and an elevated customer experience. Candidates for Black Label jobs may need experience in luxury markets or specialized product knowledge. Researching the specific company or sector is crucial to understanding the expectations and opportunities available.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Black Label, and why are they important?

I'm sorry, but 'Black Label' is not a recognized real-world professional occupation, so I am unable to provide job-relevant skills and qualifications for this title.

What are some common challenges faced by Black Label brand ambassadors, and how can they be overcome?

Black Label brand ambassadors often face challenges such as maintaining brand authenticity while engaging diverse audiences and meeting ambitious sales or event goals. Navigating crowded venues and effectively communicating the brand’s story can also be demanding. To overcome these challenges, ambassadors benefit from strong interpersonal skills, in-depth product knowledge, and adaptability. Building relationships with venue staff and leveraging creative promotional tactics can help ensure successful events and positive brand representation.

Black Label Diamonds is a rapidly growing live-commerce diamond business selling through Whatnot. We’re looking for an energetic, charismatic Live Shopping Host to become one of the on-camera faces of our shows.

This is not traditional retail sales and it is not a scripted presenter position. Our shows are fast-paced, interactive live broadcasts where hundreds of viewers may be watching, bidding, asking questions, and interacting with the host in real time.

You’ll be responsible for creating energy, entertaining the audience, presenting our products, running auctions, interacting with viewers, and keeping the show moving.

You do not need diamond or jewelry experience. We will teach you the product and the platform.

What we cannot teach as easily is personality. We're looking for someone who is naturally engaging, quick on their feet, comfortable being seen by a large audience, and capable of making strangers want to stick around and participate.

What You'll Do

  • Host live sales broadcasts on Whatnot
  • Present and sell lab-grown diamonds through live auctions
  • Interact continuously with viewers through live chat
  • Build excitement and momentum around auctions
  • Explain products and promotions clearly and accurately
  • Keep the show moving at a fast, consistent pace
  • Learn and follow Whatnot platform rules and BLD compliance procedures
  • Maintain accurate language about products and avoid unsupported claims
  • Develop relationships with repeat viewers and help build the BLD community
  • Work with the owner and team to continuously improve the show format

Who We're Looking For

We are particularly interested in people with backgrounds in live entertainment, social media, content creation, hospitality, bartending, serving, acting, music, broadcasting, sales, promotions, beauty, nightlife, or other highly social/customer-facing work.

You may be an excellent fit if you're someone who:

  • Has a naturally outgoing and entertaining personality
  • Is extremely comfortable speaking on camera
  • Can talk continuously without sounding scripted
  • Thinks quickly and improvises well
  • Can maintain high energy for several hours
  • Is comfortable joking and having fun with an audience
  • Can sell enthusiastically without sounding like a stereotypical salesperson
  • Handles pressure without becoming flustered
  • Can simultaneously talk, read chat, monitor an auction, and interact with viewers
  • Is dependable and punctual
  • Can learn detailed rules and follow them consistently
  • Takes compliance and accuracy seriously

Experience

Professional hosting experience is NOT required.

We're much more interested in presence, personality, confidence, communication ability, and coachability than having a specific résumé.

Experience with TikTok Live, Whatnot, Twitch, YouTube Live, Instagram Live, livestreaming, content creation, sales, acting, radio, podcasting, hospitality, entertainment, or public speaking is a plus.

What Success Looks Like

A great BLD host doesn't simply announce products.

You create a room people want to stay in.

You learn viewers' names. You joke with the audience. You recognize regulars. You create excitement around auctions. You know when to speed things up and when to interact with the room.

At the same time, accuracy and compliance are non-negotiable. You're representing a business selling real diamonds, so product descriptions and statements must be accurate even when the show is moving quickly.

Training

You will receive hands-on training covering:

  • Whatnot and live-auction operation
  • BLD's show format
  • Diamond basics and terminology
  • Product presentation
  • Auction pacing
  • Viewer engagement
  • Platform compliance
  • Show setup and equipment

You'll initially train alongside an experienced host before independently running shows.

Growth Opportunity

BLD is currently expanding its live-selling operation significantly. We're looking for hosts who want to grow with the business rather than simply pick up occasional shifts.

Strong performers may have opportunities for additional hours, increased responsibility, lead-host responsibilities, and compensation growth as the operation expands.

To Apply

Please submit your résumé and tell us briefly why you think you'd be good on camera in front of a live audience.

Experience is valuable, but personality matters enormously for this position.
