Job Summary:
BWX Technologies, Inc. is a U.S.-based Fortune 1000 company that provides innovative nuclear solutions. They are seeking an IT Server Applications Administrator to provide technical support and administration for key applications, ensuring system reliability and performance while collaborating with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
• Provide day to day support, maintenance, and monitoring for: Microsoft BizTalk (integrations, orchestrations, adapters, logs, custom .NET components), Microsoft SharePoint (site administration, permissions, workflow troubleshooting, custom scripts), ETQ Reliance (workflow configuration, user access, vendor patch coordination), Rocket Enterprise Server (system configuration, performance, job monitoring)
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application functionality, integrations, and server infrastructure.
• Develop or enhance small scale utilities, scripts, and integration components using .NET languages (C#, VB.NET, or PowerShell).
• Assist in maintaining and updating custom BizTalk components or SharePoint add ins developed in .NET.
• Implement software patches, upgrades, and vendor-released updates across supported applications.
• Improve application stability and performance through proactive monitoring and root-cause analysis.
• Maintain documentation of configurations, customizations, procedures, and known issues.
• Manage application configuration, environment settings, permissions, and access controls.
• Coordinate with vendors to resolve escalated technical issues and apply recommended fixes.
• Participate in change management, application lifecycle planning, system upgrades, and integration testing.
• Provide technical guidance to business users and help identify opportunities to optimize application usage.
• Ensure compliance with internal security standards, audit requirements, and IT policies.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
• Experience supporting enterprise COTS applications, preferably including: Microsoft BizTalk Server, Microsoft SharePoint, ETQ Reliance, Rocket Enterprise Server.
• Understanding of Windows Server administration, networking concepts, and application architecture.
• Ability to analyze logs, monitor performance, and diagnose complex application issues.
• Strong communication, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with ITIL practices (Incident, Change, Problem Management).
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance.
Preferred:
• Experience with SQL Server or Oracle databases, including writing basic queries.
• Scripting experience using PowerShell or similar automation tools.
• Understanding of enterprise integration patterns and middleware concepts.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and application hardening.
• Experience integrating or extending COTS applications using custom .NET components.
• Knowledge of .NET development, including C# or VB.NET, and familiarity with object‑oriented programming.
