Job description

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking senior-level engineers for our South Florida Offices for a variety of water-related assignments in various engineering disciplines (e.g., Environmental, Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Structural, etc.).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments on projects
  • Execute and oversee the planning, evaluation, design and support of projects through construction and operation
  • Coordination with internal technical specialists in all practice areas and discipline design professionals for project delivery
  • Following internal Hazen processes to ensure quality delivery of engineering projects for clients
  • Other responsibilities may include:
    • Managing projects to meet client expectations, budgets, and quality requirements
    • Evaluate progress of the project staff and results obtained and recommend changes to achieve overall project objectives
    • Supervising staff and managing projects
    • Supporting and leading proposal development
    • Direct coordination and collaboration with clients

Required Qualifications:

  • PE license (FL preferred or ability to obtain reciprocity within six months of employment)
  • 10+ years of experience in the field of water related infrastructure (including project management)
  • Experience in successfully delivering projects spanning multiple years in collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience in planning, design, and construction for water, wastewater, stormwater, and/or reuse infrastructure
  • Proficiency in all MS Office based computer software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and capable of interacting effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies
  • Self-starter with attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must be capable of presenting complex issues to nontechnical people
  • B.S. degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctorate) in Environmental, Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited U.S. program (other engineering degrees considered case by case)
  • Proficiency in GIS, CAD/BIM, BioWin, PowerBI, and other software
