Job Description Summary
Krystal Biotech, Inc. is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Commercial Data & Analytics to lead commercial analytics strategy in support of our rare disease portfolio. This role will serve as the central driver of commercial data insights, partnering closely with Commercial Leadership, Finance, Patient Services, Market Access, and other cross-functional stakeholders to translate business strategy into measurable performance metrics and actionable insights.
The ideal candidate will bring deep rare disease commercial experience, strong business acumen, and the ability to synthesize complex datasets into cohesive, decision-driving narratives. This individual will play a critical role in monitoring execution metrics, evaluating commercial effectiveness, and ensuring leadership has clear visibility into performance trends and strategic implications.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Serve as the commercial analytics lead, translating business strategy into measurable indicators and performance dashboards across Sales, Market Access, and Patient Services.
  • Compile, analyze, and synthesize diverse data sources to generate cohesive, executive-level insights and narratives.
  • Monitor execution metrics and proactively identify trends, risks, and opportunities across the commercial organization.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Commercial Leadership, Finance, Market Access, Patient Services, and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment between strategy, performance measurement, and execution.
  • Collaborate with Finance to support forecasting processes by providing commercial insights and contextual interpretation of performance drivers; while not directly owning forecasting, ensure alignment between field execution and forecast assumptions.
  • Develop and refine commercial reporting frameworks to improve clarity, efficiency, and strategic decision-making.
  • Analyze patient services and patient journey data to provide insights that optimize access, pull-through, and overall patient experience.
  • Establish data governance standards and best practices to ensure data integrity and consistency across commercial functions.
  • Support launch readiness and post-launch performance tracking for rare disease products.
  • Present insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline analytics processes while maximizing impact within a lean operating structure.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MS, or similar) highly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in commercial analytics, commercial operations, or business analytics within biotechnology or pharmaceutical organizations.
  • Rare disease commercial experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally in a high-growth biotech or specialty pharmaceutical environment.
  • Experience supporting commercial launch activities and post-launch optimization phase, strongly preferred.
  • Experience working closely with Finance on forecasting inputs and performance analytics preferred.
