Geotab is seeking a Manager, Product Marketing who will lead a team of market facing experts to drive the growth and adoption of your product portfolio. You will be a key contributor to the product strategy and roadmap, responsible for developing compelling positioning and messaging. What you'll do:

As a Manager, Product Marketing, you will own the go-to-market strategy, leading cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches and campaigns. You will mentor your team, foster a culture of market expertise, and serve as a strategic partner to Product, Sales, and Marketing leadership, ultimately owning the market success of your products.

How you'll make an impact:
  • Lead and mentor the team to tell the product story in a simple, clear, and compelling way, ensuring consistent and differentiated messaging that effectively shares Geotab's products with the world. Oversee the development and refinement of product positioning and messaging frameworks.

  • Partner with Product Marketing Management (PMM) leadership and other senior team members to guide the team in building the holistic product marketing roadmap, ensuring alignment with business priorities. Establish and track Key Performance Areas (KPAs) for the team and contribute to defining overall team goals year over year. Develop and champion strategies to achieve the next level of growth through team efforts.

  • Partner with Product Marketing Management (PMM) leadership to actively shape and advance the Product Marketing craft at Geotab. Lead the development and implementation of scalable processes and standards for how the team goes to market and coordinates with internal stakeholders. Oversee the evaluation and management of 3rd party tools or platforms to enhance the capabilities and efficiency of the PMM function.

  • Ensure the team collaborates closely with Product Managers to embody the "voice" of their respective products, possessing comprehensive knowledge of features and capabilities. Guide the team in tailoring messaging and documentation to meet the specific requirements of individual and sales teams.

  • Foster and lead strong collaborative relationships with Product Managers, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing teams to ensure alignment and seamless execution of product marketing strategies driven by your team. Represent the Product Marketing team in cross-functional leadership discussions.

  • Collaborate with Sales Enablement leadership to define priorities and oversee the team's creation and delivery of effective training programs and sales tools, equipping the sales team with the knowledge and resources they need to effectively sell the product.

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of Product Marketing Managers, fostering a collaborative and engaged environment. Provide coaching, mentorship, and ongoing feedback while supporting talent management, performance management, resource planning, and professional development. Oversee performance reviews and related HR activities, and continuously improve team processes, policies, and ways of working.

  • Drive the advancement of product, sales, and marketing KPAs by guiding the team's creation of impactful product marketing deliverables (messaging and content). Ensure the team is focused on successful adoption of features and functionality of new releases. Monitor and report on pipeline and lead generation goals in partnership with marketing teams, holding the team accountable for results.

What you'll bring to this role:
  • 10+ yearsย  of work experience ideally in Product Marketing in SaaS.

  • 3-5 years in a supervisory role.

  • Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree specialization in Engineering, Business/Marketing, Computer Science or a related field highly valued.

  • Ability to analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes.ย 

  • Solid understanding of product development and marketing principles.ย ย ย ย 

  • Experience in developing sales tools and training programs.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.

  • Deep understanding of customer needs and the ability to translate those needs into compelling product marketing strategies.

  • Experience coaching, managing and developing team members.ย ย ย ย 

  • Ability to establish and optimize product marketing processes and standards.ย 

  • Innovative thinker with a knack for developing unique marketing campaigns and strategies.
