Position Summary:

Discovery is seeking a motivated intern to join our Quality Assurance team for the upcoming summer semester. This role will provide hands-on experience by assisting in the development and maintenance of the company’s Quality Management System supporting advanced analytical technology areas (e.g. biospecimens, cell services, histology, etc.).

Must-Have Qualifications (Education, Skills, Experience):

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in life sciences preferred or other related fields such as legal may be considered
  • Interest in quality assurance in the biotechnology industry
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to conduct research and interpret complex concepts
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Support a variety of Quality Assurance (QA) activities, projects, and initiatives, including process improvement and harmonization, and audit prep
      • Participates in supplier qualification activities, including follow-ups, downloading certificates, etc.
      • General administrative activities such as scanning and filing of relevant QA documents
      • Maintain databases for supplier data
      • Compile periodic quality metrics
      • Provides support for members of the QA team at various sites
