Job description

Taylor Construction Management (TCM) is a full-scale project support services company specializing in supporting the delivery of timely and financially sound projects that meet the qualitative deliverables established by our customers. We are a global company with demonstrated success in some of the most complex industries, i.e. healthcare, education, bioscience, and transportation. At TCM, we are committed to excellence and integrity.

Job Summary

As an employee with TCM, you will work directly with one of our valued clients (more than likely, it will be at the project site). Document Control Managers are expected to demonstrate technical expertise and function as a subject matter expert. Depending on the project and the client, you might have a team that reports to you in order to effectively carry out your scope of work.

A Document Control Manager oversees the creation, tracking, versioning, and secure archiving of critical engineering, construction, and compliance documents. The position ensures operations and infrastructure projects meet strict state regulations.

Typical responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:
  • System Management: Establish, implement, and maintain document control procedures for CWA infrastructure projects.
  • Document Workflows: Manage the intake, review, comment, and approval cycles for drawings, blueprints, and project submittals.
  • Version Control: Ensure the most current, approved revisions of documents are in use and obsolete files are properly archived or destroyed.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as a liaison between internal teams, engineering consultants, municipal partners (like the City of Houston), and contractors.
  • Compliance & Auditing: Organize files to support quality assurance, project close-outs, and regulatory audits.
  • Software Administration: Manage electronic document management systems (EDMS) such as Kahua, SharePoint, Aconex, or Procore .
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Information Management, or Engineering.
  • Experience: 3 to 5+ years of direct document control experience, specifically in heavy civil construction, EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction), or public infrastructure.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and various document management and collaboration platforms.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, highly organized, and strong written/verbal communication abilities
