Job description

Job Title: Biospecimen Coordinator I Location: Oro Valley, AZ Work Model: Onsite Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Overtime may be required based on business needs) Compensation: $30.00/hr Type: 6-month contract, Potential for extension or conversion to permanent Overview We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Biospecimen Coordinator. This role is essential to our daily operations, ensuring that sample shipments are processed, triaged, and tracked with high precision. You will be instrumental in maintaining accurate chain of custody and supporting various workflow improvements within the BioSample Management Group. Responsibilities

  • Sample Intake & Triage: Receive, open, and triage incoming sample shipments, directing them to the appropriate testing locations.
  • Accessioning & QC: Perform sample accessioning and conduct quality control checks on demographic data entry to ensure accuracy.
  • Client Communication: Serve as a point of contact for clients regarding held or rejected samples, resolving issues promptly.
  • Labeling & Documentation: Execute sample labeling and perform final quality control checks to verify labeling accuracy.
  • Pathology Support: Image stained slides returned from Pathology, ensuring all deliverables are met within established timelines.
  • Logistics Coordination: Manage internal and client requests, including global sample shipments, while maintaining rigorous chain of custody standards.
  • Operational Management: Oversee the team inbox to ensure all requests are tracked and completed.
  • Process Improvement: Lead and drive deliverables for assigned process improvement workstreams within the BioSample Management Group.
  • General Support: Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Education Requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: 0-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Problem Solver: You possess strong critical thinking skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues effectively.
  • Communication Skills: You are a clear, professional communicator, both verbally and in writing.
  • Detail-Oriented: You have a meticulous approach to your work and a high standard for quality.
  • Multitasker: You can manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior knowledge or experience with sample tracking software is a plus.
