RWDC INDUSTRIES, LLC is a rapidly growing biotechnology company currently expanding a research and development facility located in Athens, Georgia. RWDC Industries manufactures biobased polymers for use as replacements for petroleum- based polymers such as polypropylene and polyethylene for use in a myriad of applications.

RWDC biopolymers are completely bio-based, made from renewable resources and are 100% biodegradable, compostable and recyclable.

RWDC INDUSTRIES, LLC is looking for talented individuals to join a team of professionals in the bioprocessing industry. We are currently seeking qualified individuals for several Bioprocessing Technician positions. Individuals selected for these positions will be member of Bioprocessing Teams who operate the research and development scale fermenters, bioreactors and downstream processing equipment.

Specific Duties Include:

       Serve as valuable member of the Bioprocessing Teams, working effectively to meet goals, objectives and complete tasks to achieve desired results.

       Successful completion of assigned tasks which include cleaning, sterilizing, and prepping equipment for microbiology and fermentation research and development activities.

       Provide timely and accurate verbal and written communication to team members.

       Work with other team members to prioritize tasks and assignments and make recommendations to maximize efficiency and productivity based on project needs.

       Successful candidates must be flexible to work day and night shifts, including some weekends.

Skills Required:

       Must possess solid problem solving, interpersonal communication, and team-based skills.

       Demonstrated experience and knowledge of working in a bioprocessing/biotechnology facility.

       Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

       Understanding of basic laboratory protocols and procedures including basic bioprocessing and fermentation techniques, major unit operations and microbial control concepts.

       Must be computer proficient and have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

       Basic maintenance skills and good mechanical aptitude.

       Ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize workload.

Education:

       Degree in life sciences or related engineering field, or 

       Technical College certificate in bioprocessing or related field, or

       Equivalent work experience will be considered as well.
